Sony To Distribute 'Bond 23' & 'Bond 24'

Apr 14, 2011 | 7:12am EDT

James Bond, Daniel CraigSony Pictures Entertainment has saved James Bond. With MGM, the studio will co-finance, theatrically market and distribute Bond 23 worldwide, announced MGM Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officers Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum and Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton and Co-Chairman Amy Pascal. Bond 23, the next film in the franchise, will release on November 9, 2012. Bond 24 has no specific date, but will be co-financed by Sony and MGM in a similar manner. Great news? Of course. But unfortunately, this news also means that males like myself will have to see Daniel Craig in a swimsuit again, which will undoubtedly make our girlfriends/wives/partners look at us during the film as we sloppily toss greasy popcorn into our mouths and comment about each "sweet-ass" explosion and wonder just what the hell they're doing with our sorry asses.

Sam Mendes will direct this latest installment, with franchise regular Judi Dench reprising her role as M.
