'Nightmare Before Christmas' Gets Blu-ray and 3D Treatment

Nightmare Before Christmas 3d blurayOne of the most creative, slightly terrifying, and beloved cartoon films ever will soon get the full 3D Blu-ray treatment. A special edition of the classic Tim Burton film, Nightmare Before Christmas, hits shelves August 30. The super set will include Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and 3D Digital Download.

We can't knock it until we try it, but I'm not sure the film needs the 3D boost, though it's certainly fun. Think about it: Jack Skellington sledding through Christmastown and Oogie Boogie's den popping right out of the screen is actually kind of cool.

Of course, in addition to the format change, the 3-disc set will come with a lengthy list of features to entice you even further. Here's the official list from Disney:
