Okay, so let me get this straight. We've got Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart as the lead and Charlize Theron as the Queen. Then you have The Brother's Grimm: Snow White with Lily Collins as the heroine and Julia Roberts wearing the evil crown. And both these movies have impressive casts of Dwarfs. On the television front, we're going to see Ginnifer Goodwin playing Snow White, Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin, and Raphael Sbarge as Jiminy Cricket in Once Upon a Time... you got all that?
Well, make room. There is ANOTHER Snow White movie under way. Disney (naturally) has been developing Snow and the Seven (retitled to The Order of the Seven) for some time now, and plans to begin filming early next year. This unique take on the story will set Snow White in 1800s China, protected from the forces of evil by a septet of warriors.
So WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH SNOW WHITE? Hardly anybody has touched the story since 1937, and now, out of the blue, everyone in a fifty-mile radius of Hollywood is shooting their own take on it! Snow White Goes to China! Snow White Meets Pinocchio! Where does it end? A Very Snow White Christmas, National Lampoon's Snow White, Snow White 2: Electric Boogaloo, Butch Whitesidy and the Snowdance Kid, Tyler Perry's Snow White... we're living in a dangerous time.
