Gerard Butler is attached to produce and star in The Bricklayer, an adaptation of the bestselling crime novel of the same name.
Bricklayer, which hit bookshelves in January 2010, centers on an FBI agent-turned-bricklayer charged with the task of bringing a gang of ransom-demanding criminals to justice. Author Noah Boyd is himself a former agent.
No word yet on who is in the running to direct -- or when the film will even begin shooting or aim for a release date -- but the screenplay will be adapted by Hanna Weg (Enigma).
