Variety reports that Brad Pitt is in talks to play a CIA agent-turned-fugitive assassin in The Gray Man, a spy thriller that James Gray (We Own the Night) is attached to direct. Pitt and Gray had been set to team for an adaptation of The Lost City of Z, David Grann's true-life account of adventure Percy Fawcett's hapless quest to find the fabled El Dorado, but the project fell apart when Paramount and Gray reportedly couldn't come to terms over money issues.
