Steven Spielberg today dropped a few interesting tidbits about his next project, the long-planned Abraham Lincoln biopic, to the Orlando Sentinel. The film will focus primarily on the last four months of Lincoln's life, the venerable director revealed, and is drawn mainly on Doris Kearns Goodwin's acclaimed book Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln. Spielberg added that he is currently planning to release the film some time after the 2012 election, so that it doesn't have an opportunity to become "political fodder." How considerate of him.
