Farrelly Brothers Finally Plotting 'Dumb & Dumber' Sequel?

Oct 26, 2011 | 3:40pm EDT

5361245.jpgCould it be true? reports that brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly are moving forward with plans to make a sequel to Dumb & Dumber, their 1994 breakout comedy hit that starred Jim Carrey (pictured right in Yes Man) and Jeff Daniels as hopelessly dimwitted pals who unknowingly become embroiled in a kidnap-for-ransom scheme. (An ill-conceived prequel, Dumb & Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, came out in 2003. Let us not speak of it again.) The plan calls for the Farrellys to direct from a script by Sean Anders and John Morris (Sex Drive, I Hate You Dad), with Carrey and Daniels hopefully returning to reprise their original roles.

The Farrellys recently finished shooting their dream project, The Three Stooges, which is slated for an April 4, 2012 release. They are reportedly hoping to make Dumb & Dumber 2 their next project.
