Alice EveEvery actor/actress has a laundry list of directors they have always dreamed of working with, but there are a handful of filmmakers that are on everyone's. At the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con, Charlize Theron said her wish was to make a movie with Ridley Scott (and she is - it's called Prometheus). When Blake Lively was cast in Universal's Savages, she revealed that her dream was to learn from its Oscar-winner Oliver Stone. Today, British beauty Alice Eve has made a gaggle of young Hollywood's finest jealous as she seems to have been picked by J.J. Abrams to take a role in his upcoming Star Trek sequel.

Variety reports that Eve, who will next be seen in Relativity's The Raven, has landed an undisclosed role in the Super 8 director's follow-up to his blockbuster 2009 franchise reboot. Details are slim as the deal is not yet solidified, but the trade claims that the part is one that will be new to the canon, so anyones guess is good at this point. What we do know is that she'll join returning Starfleet vets Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban and John Cho, as well as Benicio del Toro (who was tapped to play a main villain) in the highly anticipated film.

Personally, I'm on the fence concerning Eve. She's got the movie star look down pat, but I haven't seen enough from her to make me truly excited about her involvement in any production. She reportedly beat out Aussie Teresa Palmer and fellow Brit Hayley Atwell for the part, and I can't deny that I would've liked to have seen the latter on the bridge of the Enterprise. She held her own opposite the charismatic Chris Evans in this summer's Captain America: The First Avenger and I think she'd have done the same amongst the Trek crew, whereas Eve simply has not impressed me yet. Here's hoping she does in May 2013, when the film is expected to hit theaters.
