Update: ABC has since confirmed that Maynard, whose fiance Ricky Hendrick was killed a plane cash in Oct. 2004, will in fact be the first single mother to star as The Bachelorette on the series' next cycle.
Earlier: When Brad Womack chose Emily Maynard as his future wife on The Bachelor last March, we quickly found that the dream was in fact over.Maynard dumped Womack, giving back the ring because she felt he wasn't ready to help her raise her daughter. Now, she's jumping back into the game as the next contestant on The Bachelorette. For someone who was so quick to pull out of a relationship because of the affect it could have on her daughter, she's awfully quick to committ to bringing even more limelight onto her family.
There will be some accommodations made for her familial requirements, however. While the show normally shoots in Los Angeles, sources say the production will move to Maynard's hometown of Charlotte, N.C. Hopefully, she actually knows what she wants this time around - then again, the only couple from that series that hasn't hit the skids are Trista and Ryan, from the first season of The Bachelorette.
Do you think it's a good idea for Maynard to get back in the dating show game?
