While a wall of Pauly D GIFs would probably sustain most of us for the rest of our natural born lives, MTV is actually taking things a step further and making good on that promise to premiere a series just for the Jersey Shore star. For a while there, it seemed like this little gem might end up on the cutting room floor, but the network just announced that The Pauly D Project will premiere on March 29 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. And at least they had the good sense to realize it definitely shouldn't be an hour-long show.
The series takes Pauly D out of the drunken universe of the Jersey Shore and throws him into an actual career: a record contract with G-Note Records. The 50 Cent-owned company will help Pauly D pursue his career as a DJ, and we'll see the first step in that process: Pauly opening for Britney Spears on her "Femme Fatale" tour. It's just too bad he didn't make it onto the DVD version. And as for his cohorts? He'll be yeah-buddying his friends from Rhode Island. The series will fill the Jersey Shore void - literally - when it ends its season on March 15. And from the looks of this season of the tired reality show, a change will be welcome - even if it comes with a side of the Punk'd reboot (which premieres at 10 p.m. ET/PT right before The Pauly D Project).
Will you tune in (because Pauly is the best, most entertaining person on Jersey Shore)?
