Last week Katie Couric, who hosted the Today Show for 15 years, revealed that she'll be filling in for co-host Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, her former morning news rival. However, the folks at Today are having the last laugh. In a clear attempt to overshadow Couric's GMA appearance, NBC has invited Sarah Palin to guest host the Today Show starting Tuesday.
As you'll recall (at least, after watching the HBO film Game Change) Couric and Palin's contentious interview became a major issue in the 2008 campaign. Palin complained later that Couric had asked "gotcha" questions, such as "what newspapers do you read?"
This week Palin will get a chance to flip the table when she joins Matt Lauer and Ann Curry as co-host. Kim Kardashian, the Duggars, Tori Spelling, Giuliana Rancic, and Nicki Minaj are all set to appear on Today. Tina Fey better prepare herself, because it sounds like an SNL parody waiting to happen.
