It's been a score of Tuesdays since we've had Glee to simultaneously entertain and annoy us, but next week the show comes back from it's long winter's nap. To get us all ready for the event, the head Gleeks in charge put out a video from the episode of iTunes Download Factory Darren Criss and White Collar hottie Matt Bomer singing Gotye's hit single "Somebody That I Used to Know (feat. Kimbra)."
Because I am an old man who learns about culture solely from a show about singing teenage troubadours, I didn't know what a Gotye was until this very second. I also thought that Kimbra was one Jem (of the Holograms) sister, but after a quick Google I discovered that I was sadly mistaken. Anyway, it's a great song and Glee seems to be shifting the original meaning of the emotional ditty about a boy who broke up with a girl to make it about Blaine and his prodigal brother, played by Bomer. Also, who knew that Matty Baby could sing? Marry me now, please.
We don't know much about Bomer's character other than that his name is Cooper Anderson (a silly moniker for an openly gay actor playing the sibling of an oh-so-gay character) and, from the song, it appears that they have some kind of beef. Is it because Cooper wouldn't let Blaine play with his dolls? That's what it looks like. Either way, a good track, and Blaine isn't doing either of his two dance moves (the head bobble or the pee-pee dance crotch clamp) so that's great.
Check it out below (and check out the original song even below that).
