'Game of Thrones' Gets an Unofficial Hip-Hop Theme Song — VIDEO

game of thronesFew shows have as memorable a score as the opening song on HBO's Game of Thrones. Seriously, just try to listen to the music without feeling inspired to march over to your neighbor's house to demand they return that appliance they swear they never borrowed. It just won't happen. But it never hurts to stray away from the constant onslaught of violence and bloodshed that comes with war, horse beheadings, and infant smoke demons — at least once in a while. Luckily for us, Adam WarRock — who famously came up with songs for Parks and Recreation and Justified — has based a new hip-hop track specifically for GoT, based on the sage advice offered in Season 1 by Syrio Forel to Arya Stark. "There is only one thing we say to death: Not Today."

Normally, you wouldn't think hip-hop and a medieval war story would go hand-in-hand (though can't you just picture Tyrion rocking out to this in a nightclub?). But just like a Lannister always pays his debts, WarRock manages to bring some humor to these troubling times while still incorporating the many obstacles we've seen so far amid the battle for the Iron Throne.

When you play the Game of Rap you either chant or you rhyme. This song manages to do a little bit of both.
