"I absolutely love Josh," she says. "I think he is a phenomenal singer and I am rooting for him to win the whole thing. I am really honored that people are comparing his vocal ability and energy to mine."
Unfortunately, getting Barrino's endorsement doesn't guarantee Joshua the Idol
win, but according the Season 3 winner, he's got the right stuff. "I really think he has everything it takes to win Idol
. He’s youthful, he has a unique look and sound, he has the personality, spirit and drive that it takes to win the show," says the 27-year-old.
Just in case he does need a little boost, we asked Fantasia for advice for Joshua — especially since the competition against Jessica Sanchez
and Phillip Phillips
is so steep. "The only tip I can give Josh is to continue being himself," she says, adding,"The only way Idol
winners succeed is by showing the judges that they have something that cannot be bought or taught. Something original. If Josh keeps focusing on the real sound of his voice, and taking that expert advice from those judges, only God knows where his talent will take him."
And let's hope she's right! The Top 4 will become a Top 3 May 10 at 8 PM ET/PT on Fox. Do you think Joshua is safe? Would you be able to continue on if he isn't?
