Now that The X Factor Season 2 auditions are in full swing, both fans and contestants alike are curious to see what the new crop of judges will bring to the judging panel. And while Britney Spears has been pegged as being one of the tougher judges on the show, she assures viewers that not the case and claims to be extremely fair when it comes to selecting contestants.
"I think I'm a fair judge," Spears shares during the show's San Francisco stop. But it's by no means an easy job. In fact, she finds herself empathizing with many of the singing hopefuls since she too was once in the same exact position herself. "Sometimes it's hard because I know what they've been through and being so young," Spears recalls. "It's such a subtle and delicate situation when they're that young, so you just have to use constructive criticism and be there for them and just show them support."
And as far as being the toughest judge on the panel, the 30-year-old singer gladly passes that title over to Simon Cowell (no surprise there). "I definitely think Simon would have to be the toughest judge." But what does it take to get the Spears stamp of approval? "I'm really just looking for [someone who] shows spark and spunk and someone that's meant to do what they're doing and it shows."
