Ron Howard and Jason Bateman Tease ‘Arrested Development’ Details for Next Season

Jul 12, 2012 | 5:58am EDT

arrested developmentWhile some television shows continue to run long after the creative well has run dry, others end up getting canceled way before their time — which, unfortunately, is exactly what happened to the popular cult show Arrested Development. In other words: they've made a huge mistake!

But fear not Bluth fans, for the show has been resuscitated thanks to Netflix, which plans to air 10 episodes with the original cast. And thanks to a recent tweet courtesy of Jason Bateman — filming will commence in four weeks!

"All systems are go. Filming for the new episodes starts in four weeks. Woo!" the actor announced on Twitter. Producer and narrator Ron Howard further helped to stir excitement among Arrested Development's rabid fan base by sharing a picture from the writer's room and promising more wacky curveballs than ever before. "Mitch let Jason and I in on some of the twists and turns ahead. [H]ilarious," Howard wrote. As you can see, they're all clearly hard at work.

The whole batch of new shows will air all at once on Netflix at some point next year. Let's just hope the family is as morally and literally bankrupt as they were when viewers last saw them. So break out your "Anyong" and "There's always money in the banana stand" T-shirts, because this is one party you're not going to want to miss.
