So you tell us, answer-man; did you ever imagine seeing Mike Ehrmantraut in Pawnee, Indiana? Well, television fans can now die in peace knowing that two of the best television shows on the air right now are sharing actors. According to HitFix, during an episode of the fifth season of Parks and Recreation, Jonathan Banks from Breaking Bad will join the cast as a guest star, portraying the father of Adam Scott's Ben Wyatt.
"We were working the character description of Ben's dad," explains Parks co-creator Mike Schur, "and I said aloud, 'He should act like Mike Ehrmentraut.' So somebody said, 'Well, why can't we just get Jonathan Banks?'"
And just like that, it happened! Banks is slated to appear (alongside Mrs. Wyatt aka Glenne Headley) in the sixth episode of the new season, titled "Ben's Parents."
"To me, at this exactly moment in time, he's everyone I know's favorite actor," explained Schur. "He's the actor about which we've spent the most time talking in the room over the last year. It's awesome ... everyone's geeking out. A lot of the writers are coming up with reasons to be down on the set today." Anyone else hoping that Ben's dad will have nefarious dealings and is maybe a retired cop from Philadelphia?
Parks and Recreation premieres Thursday, September 20th, at 9:30/8:30c on NBC.
