The event was cancelled earlier this week in the wake of the ongoing Hollywood writers strike, but a less-starry prize-giving will now take place.
There will be no red carpet and the media will not be invited to cover proceedings. Instead, the winners will be informed over Christmas and asked to submit a video acceptance message for the January TV show.
Striking writers plan to picket all awards shows that go ahead in the New Year.
