Finding out that your long-running TV series has been canceled certainly sucks. But when you find out the news not through an official announcement or a phone call, but instead via Twitter? That's just adding insult to injury, at least according to 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord.
"It was a shocker," McCord told Life & Style of the recent cancelation. "[The cast] found out via Twitter — that wasn’t cool at all."
McCord, who has played the confident, sometimes-villain Naomi Clark on the CW soap for five seasons, also wasn't satisfied with the ending that was written for her character. So she decided to shoot her own! "They rewrote the ending and I liked the original so I filmed my own ending — a surprise for the fans," McCord says. She will tweet the link to her ending on YouTube after the finale airs.
The 25-year-old says the ending of 90210 is "emotional" and "bittersweet. We’ve had a great time. All things have to end and new things begin." Plus, now that she isn't Naomi for the first time in five years, she can finally change her hair color! While she hasn't officially dyed her hair dark, she did don a brunette wig to test out the color.
Haha you guys R awesome!! I was saying I don't "have" to be blonde--but I haven't made the switch ...yet. I just wanted to spend a day, dark— AnnaLynne McCord (@IAMannalynnemcc) March 6, 2013
What do you think of her possible new hair color? We say go for it!
The 90210 series finale airs Monday, May 13, at 9 PM ET/PT on The CW.
