'Twas the night before winter and all beyond the wall
Just one creature was stirring: a man not so tall...
Hopefully, George R. R. Martin has a better knack for capturing the holiday spirit than I do, as he's setting to work on a Christmas book centered on the fan favorite Game of Thrones character Tyrion Lannister. While Martin still has a few installments left in the canonical Song of Ice and Fire series, he's taking a breather to round up some of Tyrion's greatest quotes, witticisms, and "clever and naughty quips" for a piece titled, The Wit and Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister.
HarperCollins announced the new product, which is set to hit shelves this Christmas, on Wednesday, as reported by The Bookseller. In the novels and the HBO program alike (whereon he is played by Peter Dinklage), Tyrion ranks as the most captivating of Martin's characters, holding fast to his superior intellect in the face of bigger, brawnier foes' brute wrath.
And although we hope Martin hurries back to the chronological series after this quick diversion, we're wondering what other characters might deserve their own standalone titles. How about an instructional guide on dragon rearing from Daenerys Targaryen, or an anthology of love poems by Samwell Tarly? We're officially interested.
