Former 'Bachelor' Contestant Gia Allemand Is Dead at 29

Gia Allemand, former Bachelor contestant from Season 14 with Jake Pavelka, has been pronounced dead. According to People, the 29-year-old Allemand was hospitalized in New Orleans on Aug. 12 after undergoing a "serious medical event." The nature of the complication has not yet been clarified.

On the reality series, Allemand's charisma took her all the way to the final three. After being eliminated, she was a contestant on Bachelor Pad for two seasons. Outside of the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise, Allemand earned celebrity in her romantic relationship with famous NBA player Ryan Anderson. Originally from New York, she lived in New Orleans as a fitness instructor of Pure Barre.
