But EW is reporting there’s an even bigger change we’ll have to get used to, and it’ll be harder to watch than following Pauly D and Snooki to the tanning salon every day. It seems like MTV is bringing in more cast members! (So more of them do exist.)
The good news is it doesn’t look like anybody’s getting replaced – they’re just…additions. We’re supposed to meet these newbies in the second half of the season, when the cast leaves Miami and heads back to Seaside Heights, N.J. to finish filming. It’s unclear just how many new faces we’ll see, but chances are it’s not going to be just one guido or guidette. At the same time, I’d be very surprised if we were bombarded with eight because that would bring the cast to sixteen, and that would mean numerous health code violations…of which the Jersey Shore certainly doesn’t need any more.
But let’s look at this as a positive thing instead of a negative one. MTV knows the kind of people we want to see GTL (which stands for the Shore’s daily activities of “gym, tan, laundry”), evidenced by their decisions to cast the delicious Situation and everyone else the first time around. And if there’s one thing MTV does well, it’s introduce us to people who make it impossible to forget the sunscreen at home. Meeting even more of them can’t hurt, right?
