So far, we’ve peeked inside the lives of New Jersey, New York City, Orange County, Atlanta, and Washington D.C. housewives courtesy of Bravo. However, the series looks a little geographically one-sided, doesn’t it? Has it taken spending numerous seasons on the east coast to balance out the extreme and PhD-certified housewifery we saw in Orange County? That might be part of it, but fans of the series have been waiting long and hard for Bravo to film another installment in California… and today, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were revealed. Let’s introduce ourselves to them and then confuse them with the man-made mountains we use as desktop backgrounds to our computers, shall we?
First, we’ll go with Taylor Armstrong, who’s from Oklahoma and now runs a consulting firm. Sound boring? Well, keep struggling to fit beneath the rollercoaster safety bar because Taylor has what Bravo producers call “marriage problems.” And in an attempt to forget about them, she throws $50,000 birthday parties for her 4-year-old daughter. Surely you can't take her anywhere.
Then we have Lisa Vanderpump, who’s a British designer that moved to Beverly Hills five years ago. She has a dog named Giggy. That’s all we’ve got for her, other than Lisa probably makes Giggy walk around in booties that she calls “pumps” if not for any reason she can tell him, “Giggy, let’s put on your pumps!” and make it sound like he’s a milking cow.
Camille Grammer, ex-wife of Kelsey Grammer, has hobbies like “dancing, skiing, paddle boarding, tennis, hiking, and collecting first edition books.” All luxurious activities until you get divorced because your husband CANNOT STAND ON A STAGE OR VOTE PROPERLY IN A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
Next is Kim Richards, whose movie roles in Escape to Witch Mountain and No Deposit, No Return are not off set (unfortunately) by the fact she’s Paris Hilton’s aunt.
Kyle Richards is Kim’s sister, and she believes that if you “obey the rules, you’ll miss all the fun.” That’s, like, printed on mechanical bulls or something.
Adrienne Maloof has lived in Beverly Hills for 15 years, and she’s got some connection to the Sacramento kings and the Palms Resort in Las Vegas. She’s got three sons and is married to a plastic surgeon, so her house is probably all Tuck Everlasting and crap.
Here's a preview of the season, which looks quite great. See if you can pick out who's who. Even though Giggy is, by species, a dog, it's kind of hard to tell.
