SkinsUPDATE:

Turns out the Parents Television Council is super serious about this whole Skins ordeal. They're calling for the Department of Justice to begin a federal investigation for "possible child pornography and exploitation," so, you know, that should go over well. I guess someone forgot to tell the PTA about The Walking Dead and how they chop off zombie's heads. The message? Don't have sex on camera, but feel free illustrate murder of already dead peoples. Cheers!

EARLIER:

You know, there are some cool laws to break. Not that I’m advocating breaking any, but when someone tells you they went to jail for stealing their boss’ car and then setting it on fire in the middle of the highway, that’s pretty bad-ass. Producing child pornography is not one of those cool laws to break.

Such is the dilemma facing MTV’s racy new imported show Skins. In the series' third episode, a male character’s butt is shown as he runs down the street. It just so happens that the actor, Jesse Carere, is 17, despite the fact that he and the other actors in the show (ranging in ages from 15 to 19) and their characters engage in sex and drug use. Whoops. I’m just surprised they’re worried about kids seeing a butt instead of the fact that in the episode he takes erectile dysfunction pills. Priorities people!

Also of note, the Parents Television Council has deemed Skins the “most dangerous program that has ever been foisted on your children.” And we of course respond with a resounding Fuck You PTC! It’s not the television’s fault, it’s the parents'. Fight the disease, not the symptoms, you worthless, loudmouth, unnecessary, politically-minded, and censorship-worshiping fear mongers.
