Joining Mark Salling and Matthew Morrison in pursuing other career opportunities aside from Glee (where characters bust into stores and instantly start wooing shoppers and clerks by serenading them with hits from 2002, as seen below) is Darren Criss, who has just signed a record deal with Sony and he will soon be coming out with his own album. Criss told Billboard, "We're working on it -- we're really excited and it's something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I'm so thrilled that it's something that can happen because of Glee. I hope I can do it justice and make it something that people really can enjoy." Though this isn't Criss's first set of recordings (in July of 2010 he released an EP entitled Human, that consisted of 5 songs and debuted at No. 30 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers Albums and was listed in the iTunes Top 20 Alternative Charts), the prospect of a full length album is sure to excite those who have thoroughly enjoyed his samples of Destiny's Child and, most recently, Robin Thicke. There's no word on if the upcoming record will consist of original music or covers but either way, the consensus is that this is a really great next step for Criss. So if there's anything we can learn from this prospering youngblood it's that we should take those "Wanna Be a Guest Star on Glee?" contests more seriously.
