Sex and the City Carrie BradshawWhat's something this world definitely needs more of? Sex and the City! Right? Well, fans may not be clamoring for more after that last film sequel, but before the groaning commences, hear us out. The CW is reportedly the leading candidate to nab rights to Sex and The City author Candice Bushnell's prequel series, The Carrie Diaries. While the missing Bradshaw moniker evokes more images of Sissy Spacek covered in blood than Ms. Bradshaw strolling down Fifth Avenue with a brand new Chanel bag, the idea is sound.

Fans always say they want to know where Carrie Bradshaw came from, how she became the fashion maven and wanton squealer we know and continue to put up with. The adult Bradshaw may have worn out her welcome in recent years, but they're plenty of room -- especially on a network like the CW -- for delving into her adolescent past.

There's nothing set in stone yet, but the show would follow Bradshaw in high school, the CW is the front-runner, and reports say that they're eying the salacious drama dream team, Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz (Chuck, The OC, Gossip Girl), to lead the charge into tales of (presumably) what came before the sex and the city.
