Glee's storylines may be getting a little out of hand again. Trouty Mouth is heading back to McKinley High and this time, his extracurriculars will be a little more in line with that name of his. In an effort to get Mercedes' attention, he'll join McKinley's sychronized swim team, though I didn't realize any high school still had one of those. This new venture will give Sam (Chord Overstreet) yet another excuse to walk around sans shirt, but I'd hope he puts more weight into his campaign to get Mercedes back. Being attractive and a coordinated swimmer aren't exactly the key to a lady's heart - especially when her current boyfriend is the one who taught her how to get out of Rachel Berry's shadow. I smell a mismatched conflict abrewing.
The return of Trouty Mouth will air Jan. 10 and the episode will also introduce four new recurring characters: the swim team coach and three other swimmers, of course.
Glee airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
