Three's Company: 'Total Recall's Three-Breasted Alien and Other Trios That Should Be Duos

Perhaps the only thing in our gallery that would truly get to enjoy the company of the Three-Breasted Woman in 'Total Recall,' Blinky, the Three-Eyed Fish, is a product of his environment. Spawned from the waters by the Nuclear Power Plant, Blinky may be a mutant, but he fits in effortlessly in Springfield. After all, this is a town in which all its residents have four fingers. 

Quote the three-eyed raven? Never more, never more, never more. Much like Blinky from 'The Simpsons', the ominous three-eyed raven from 'Game of Thrones' gets the perks of seeing thrice the things! Plus, this one gets to live in the subconscience of Bran Stark. 

Unlike saying the name of Volde — you know what, never mind — saying the name of Beetlejuice brings on some otherworldly shenanigans. Of course, saying it three times comes in the form a wise-cracking freelance bio-exorcist (played to perfection by Michael Keaton) who starts trouble. Then again, if you don't say his name, there's no Beetlejuice and no Beetlejuice means no classic movie. Oh no...

In addition to Blinky, we could have just as easily added another 'Simpsons' character to this: Krusty the Clown, who has a superfluous third nipple. But wouldn't you rather stare at a shirtless Mark Wahlberg and his third nipple than an animated clown? Yes. Yes you would. 

Threesomes are a tricky thing to maneuver, and we don't just mean physically. Three can be a crowd in bed, especially when one person in the party feels excluded (like, say, Ross was in 'Friends' with his ex-wife Carol). Or totally uncomfortable, like Jonah Hill was in the terribly unsexy threesome he had in 'Get Him to the Greek' with Russell Brand and Elisabeth Moss. C'mon guys, leave this one to the pros. (See: 'American Psycho' and, of course, 'Wild Things.') 

The second installment of the 'American Pie' series (which, fittingly, should have also stopped at two) introduced moviegoers to the Rule of Three theory. According to said rule (or, at least, Stifler and Jessica), the number of guys a girl has claimed she slept with should be multiplied by three, whereas the number of girls a guy has claimed he slept with should be divided by three. A pretty bogus theory, the 'Rule of Three' never quite made it into the pop culture lexicon the way that MILF did

Perhaps the best example of why it's best to stop at two, 'The Godfather Part III' takes an otherwise pristine movie saga and leaves us with a bitter aftertaste. Though it's not nearly as actively terrible as say, 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' or 'The Matrix Revolutions,' for the sake of the integrity of the brilliant first two films, we're going to just pretend this one never happened. Much like 'Alien 3'.

What Bonus Jonas? Imagine our surprise when we found out there was an Optional Olsen. After having a lifetime of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, third sister Elizabeth Olsen found her way into the spotlight. Sorry gals, but we only made space in our lives for two Olsens. It's already a full house in here. (Nailed it!) 

The ultimate third wheel, Scrappy-Doo totally hijacked the harmonious duo that was Scooby-Doo and Shaggy. Is it the Lone Ranger and Tonto and Scrappy-Doo or Laurel and Hardy and Scrappy-Doo? Zoinks. Nope. 

Gold, frankincense and... myrrh? Pretty sure that last one wasn't on the registry. Nice try, wise guy.
