This was a night ruled by 'SNL' alums. In addition to Amy and Tina just killing it, Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig came in and only brought down the house even more with their gut-busting introduction of the Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical category. The wide-eyed pair pulled off a feat in masterful improv as they explained the plot of each of the nominated films that they most certainly didn't see. Sure it felt a little bit like an extended Garth and Kat sketch, but we'll take their word on any movie that contains the line "You get out of here!"

Somewhere, Seth MacFarlane is coming to terms with the fact that he won't be the best awards show host this year. No, that honor now belongs to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler who absolutely killed it as co-hosts of the 2013 Golden Globes. While they were flawless throughout, they had us at opening monologue, from their va-va-voom knockout outfits to that viciously hilarious jab at James Cameron (now, that is how you make fun of a celeb, Ricky Gervais) they captivated from the very first minute.

While it wasn't exactly a real 'ER' reunion, stars George Clooney and Julianna Margulies, who played one of the best couples ever, embraced on the Golden Globes red carpet and a generation of television fans collectively sighed.

We didn't love Jessica Chastain's hair or dress, but we were utterly charmed by her heartfelt and gracious acceptance speech when she won for Best Actress Drama. The 'Zero Dark Thirty' powerhouse thanked two of the most important women in her life: her director Kathryn Bigelow and her grandmother. Chastain's humble win was as honest a moment as any during the entire broadcast and it felt like good Oscar speech practice. You're not on the sidelines anymore, Jessica.

The beloved former President earned a standing ovation and it took everyone in the audience, both at the Globes and in the audience, a little time to settle down from the excitement.

Well, Adele is just adorable, isn't she? The new mom gave a darling and downright funny ("We've been pissin' ourselves all night") acceptance speech for Best Song, but nothing was more charming than watching the Brit high five James Bond himself, Daniel Craig when her name was announced. Craig may be cool as a cucumber, but even he couldn't help crack a smile when the "Skyfall" singer celebrated with him. Maybe she should have high-fived Tommy Lee Jones, too.

It's amazing Sacha Baron Cohen is still invited to any awards shows after his red carpet stunt at the Oscars last year, but he might not be let back after his cringe-inducing moment as a presenter. Whether he was trying to fill the Ricky Gervais void as boorish roast master or trying out a new character, none of it worked. It was mean-spirited, loud, and awkward. But, he did pull off the impossible: He made us feel bad for Anne Hathaway.

We get it, Claire Danes. The HFPA likes you, they really like you, but pointing that fact out doesn't make us like you more. In fact, it makes us think they need to spread the wealth out a little bit more. (Especially after that lackluster second season of 'Homeland').
