Beyond Obsessed: Mad for Mirlo

I’m always on the hunt for new, unique jewelry. Recently I’ve been laser focused on first knuckle rings. There’s just something so sexy about a finger stacked with thin ribbons of gold and silver.

So when I came across Mirlo’s Handcuff Ring I was instantly obsessed. Turns out, this is just one of the many ahh-mazing pieces created by NYC-based designer Katherine Kim and her business partner Grace Grichel.

First let me tell you why I can’t get enough of the Handcuff ring. I love the contradiction of the design: a delicate, feminine presentation of traditionally masculine restraining irons. To me, there’s nothing sexier than subtle naughtiness. And while a lot of first knuckle or stacking rings are prone to slipping off the finger – this Mirlo ring is not one of them. In fact, it’s quite wearable. One of the handcuffs is sized smaller than the other so that both rings fit snugly on one finger or two adjacent fingers.

Much like the reason I love the Handcuff ring, Katherine’s designs combine clean lines and modern shapes that are both feminine and fierce at the same time. While this may seem like an easy feat, not many jewelry designers can pull off that duplicity successfully.

Mirlo is definitely a brand to watch. We know we’ll be keeping a close on eye on them as well.
