On the Runway: Crop Tops Are Here to Stay

Crop tops were one of this summer’s biggest trends — we’re certainly still seeing plenty of them on the streets at New York Fashion Week. And it seems they’re not going away without a fight for Spring/Summer 2014.

In his September 7 show, Alexander Wang sent several variations of long-sleeved crop tops and midriff-baring bralet tops down the runway. Over at Helmut Lang, Peter Som, Christian Siriano, and Richard Chai, as well as Jill Stuart and Rebecca Taylor (pictured), abs were on full display.

This fall/winter, our crop tops will get layered over fitted knits and under cozy jackets. But come March, we’ll be ready for more navel gazing.
