A new fall scent is almost as important as a new fall wardrobe. So says everyone in our office.
Ask any editor — fragrances are deeply rooted and personal, and are hardly a one-size-fits-all item. They’re vehicles for olfactory memory, and act akin to a favorite pair of earrings, or a trademark beauty trend: without it, you just feel naked.
That’s not to say you can’t have more than one signature scent: we like to change ours with the seasons, and with the last of our August tans starting to fade away, we’ve got the hankering for something new. Darker palettes, minimalistic 90s-inspired coats, buttery leather ankle booties are on our mind, as well as berry tones, wild waves, and precisely-lined eyes. It’s only natural to swap our summery, beauty scents for the moodier, floral notes that have already got beauty editors abuzz.
