Verdict due in A$AP Rocky assault trial

A Stockholm court will rule on Wednesday (14Aug19) whether A$Ap Rocky is guilty in his assault case.
The Praise the Lord hitmaker spent over a month behind bars in the Swedish capital on charges of assault before he was released from custody on 2 August. The star made his stage return at a festival in California over the weekend (10-11Aug19), but could face a return to the country if the judge determines he’s guilty and demands more jail time.
The 30-year-old rapper, real name Rakim Mayers, was arrested on 2 July following a street brawl two days earlier, in which he and his entourage were embroiled with a 19-year-old plaintiff Mustafa Jafari.
Prosecutor Daniel Suneson called for a six-month prison sentence for Rocky and two of his crew, while the defence argued they acted in self-defence and should be acquitted.
Rocky is not expected to be present for the verdict.
