Synopsis

Phil Thomas is an African-American businessman who quits his job and builds a teen crisis center at 413 Hope St. in Manhattan, where his son was murdered in a senseless act of violence. The staff includes Antonio Collins, a young psychologist and counselor torn between his work at the center and his new marriage to his wife, Angelica; Juanita Harris, the no-nonsense counselor who treats each kid with equal concern and attention; and Sylvia Jennings, the feisty attorney endlessly fighting for the kids' rights. Some of the teens who turn to the shelter for help include Quentin, a teenager trying desperately to come to terms with the fact that he is HIV positive; Carlos, a drug addict who must kick the habit for the sake of his baby; and Melvin, a young gay man living with HIV.
