British soap stars Nicole Barber Lane and Liam Fox have split after more than 15 years of marriage. Lane, who plays Myra McQueen in Hollyoaks, and Fox, who plays Dan Spencer in Emmerdale, announced the news in a joint statement which reveals they plan to divorce, but continue living together for the sake of their children.
The statement reads, "It is with much sadness that we confirm the end of our marriage, though our family unit remains strong. We will always love and respect each other and are united by our children and family remaining at the centre of our lives."
The couple wed in 1999 and they have two kids together.
British soap star James Sutton is engaged to marry his model girlfriend Kit Williams. Sutton, who is best known for his roles in U.K. serial dramas Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, popped the question to Williams while on holiday in Barbados last week (26Jan15).
Sutton shared the news on Twitter.com on Friday (30Jan15) by posting an image of the pair having a romantic dinner, and an engagement ring is clearly seen on Williams' finger. The actor captioned the picture, writing, "She said yes".
The soap star, who turned 32 on Saturday (31Jan15), later wrote, "Thanks for all the congratulations messages on our engagement and the birthday ones too. I'm having a great birthday."
British stage and screen star Sheridan Smith has reportedly embarked on a romance with newly-separated Hollyoaks actor Greg Wood. Wood recently split from Catherine, his wife of 10 years and the mother of his three children, and has since sparked rumours suggesting he has already moved on to date the Quartet actress.
The actors were spotted hanging out together at the National Television Awards in London on Wednesday (21Jan15) and were reportedly caught kissing outside a restaurant later on that night.
British actor Trevor Smith has reportedly been found dead in a quarry in Derbyshire, England.
The star, who appeared in hit TV soap operas Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, went missing on Monday (05Jan15) and police released an urgent appeal for information on his whereabouts. Cops now believe a man's body found in a quarry on Tuesday (06Jan15) is that of Smith.
In a statement, a Derbyshire Police spokesman says, "Officers believe that the body found... is Trevor Smith, who was also known as Trevor Hancock."
Smith played Kevin Dolan in Coronation Street in 1999, and he also had roles in dramas including Emmerdale, No Angels and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes.
Irish actor Emmett J. Scanlan is engaged to marry British soap star Claire Cooper. The Fall star proposed to Cooper on Christmas Eve (24Dec14) and announced the news on Instagram.com, sharing a picture of the couple kissing while showing off the bride-to-be's engagement ring.
In the caption, he wrote, "There are over a million ways to ask the question, but only one real answer..."
Cooper also added on Twitter.com, "I am a very happy Cooper today... Soon to be Scanlan!..."
The pair met on the set of British soap opera Hollyoaks and began dating in 2011. They both left the series in 2013.
Since leaving the show, Scanlan has enjoyed small roles in superhero movie Guardians of the Galaxy and U.S. TV show Constantine.
British actor Gary Lucy is a married man after exchanging vows with his fiancee at a ceremony in London. Lucy, who has appeared in shows such as Footballers' Wives, Hollyoaks and EastEnders, tied the knot with his longtime partner Natasha Gray, the mother of his two children, on 16 November (14).
The ceremony was attended by stars including former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, and Lucy shared the happy news by re-posting a picture of a magazine cover featuring his big day on his Twitter.com page on Monday (24Nov14).

Stars including Kenney Jones, Martin Kemp and Antony Costa have paid tribute to veteran glam rocker Alvin Stardust following his death on Thursday (23Oct14). The My Coo Ca Choo hitmaker, real name Bernard Jewry, passed away aged 72 following a short battle with prostate cancer.
Celebrities have taken to their Twitter.com accounts to pay tribute to the star, including veteran drummer Jones, who writes, "I am so heartbroken to hear that my friend Alvin Stardust has passed away. My thoughts are with his family," while Kemp adds, "RIP Alvin Stardust".
Costa, of British boyband Blue, played the star's onstage son in a touring production of musical Boogie Nights and writes, "R.I.P. Alvin Stardust had the pleasure to work with him on Boogie Nights tour playing my dad thoughts go out to his family."
Stardust's second ex-wife, British actress Liza Goddard, has also penned a thoughtful message. The Skippy star was married to the musician in the 1980s and they have a daughter together.
She writes, "RIP Alvin Stardust. Thank you for our beautiful daughter and granddaughter."
Former Hollyoaks star Jeremy Edwards and British DJ Tony Blackburn have also paid tribute to Stardust.
Veteran pop singer Alvin Stardust has died, aged 72. The My Coo Ca Choo hitmaker, real name Bernard William Jewry, passed away at home surrounded by his wife Julia and family on Thursday (23Oct14), his manager tells Sky News.
He had recently been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer.
Jewry first burst onto the pop scene in Shane Fenton and the Fentones in the 1960s and they enjoyed a string of hits on the U.K. music chart.
After they split, Jewry took time out of the spotlight and returned years later in 1973, under the alias Alvin Stardust, producing hits such as Jealous Mind and I Feel Like Buddy Holly.
Stardust also enjoyed an acting career with brief appearances in U.K. TV shows Doctors, The Grimleys and British soap opera Hollyoaks. He also performed in musicals Godspell and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
He had been largely absent from the music industry since the 1980s, but was planning to make a pop comeback in November (14) with his first album in 30 years.
The glam rocker was married three times and had four children.
British actor Danny Dyer received a top prize at the annual Inside Soap Awards in London on Wednesday (01Oct14). The Business star joined hit U.K. soap opera Eastenders last year (13) and was recognised with a Best Actor trophy at the prizegiving, less than a month after he picked up a top honour at Britain's TV Choice Awards.
Eastenders was named Best Soap, Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson picked up Best Actress and Australian series Neighbours won the Best Daytime Soap award during the ceremony at DSTRKT nightclub in London.
British soap star Kieron Richardson is engaged to marry his long-term boyfriend. The actor, best known for his long-running role in U.K. TV show Hollyoaks, is preparing to wed his partner Carl Hyland.
The couple is planning to marry in a low-key ceremony next year (15).
Richardson tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "I just got engaged. It's really exciting. We've been together for over seven years so it's not a shock."
