Rising R&B star August Alsina has reached out to fans from his hospital bed after waking up from a three-day coma following his concert collapse in New York on Monday night (15Sep14). The No Love singer lost consciousness midway through his performance and stumbled off stage and into the crowd.
He was admitted to a local medical centre, where Alsina's representative revealed he was being treated in an intensive care unit after suffering several seizures brought on by exhaustion and dehydration.
He has since regained consciousness and has wasted no time in assuring fans he is on the road to recovery via Instagram.com.
On Friday (19Sep14), Alsina shared a photo of himself in his hospital bed with his best friend by his side, and in the caption, he wrote, "This is a bit graphic but i wanted to share this w/ (with) every follower of mine. iWoke (sic) up out of a 3 day coma... &This guy @banggang_moneyteam right here never once left my side. What I'm tryna (sic) say is cherish the ones in life who cherish you & take good care of yourself. Your life can be gone in a split second'. Alsina had to scrap a show in Cincinnati, Ohio on Tuesday (16Sep14) due to his hospitalisation. It is not yet known when he will be well enough to return to the stage, but U.S. dates scheduled until early October (14) are still live on his website.
Liam Neeson showed off his fun side on U.S. show Watch What Happens Live! on Thursday (18Sep14) when he read out famous movie quotes after taking a hit of helium from a balloon. Pal and fellow guest John Benjamin Hickey had to guess the movies from the Taken star's high-pitched lines.
Ryan Adams thrilled the crowd at his London show on Thursday night (18Sep14) by rocking out with Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp. The rocker has collaborated with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor on a new track called Aching For More, which appears as a B-side to his latest single Gimme Something Good, and they took to the stage together at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in the British capital.
Depp appeared with Adams for the encore performance, covering Mother by heavy metal band Danzig and the star's own song Kim.
The guitar-playing actor has appeared on stage with numerous music acts over the years, and recently performed with Aerosmith at a gig in Massachusetts.
Jenny Mccarthy's 12-year-old son Evan walked her down the aisle at her wedding to Donnie Wahlberg.
The model-turned-TV personality married the New Kids on the Block star on 31 August (14), and the big day was made even more special as she had her son by her side. McCarthy tells People.com, "He came up to me and said, 'I have the most important job at the wedding', and I said 'You do,' and then the time came where he walked in the door in his little tuxedo... Donnie helped him get dressed, and then he met me and said, 'You ready?' "He put out his little arm, and we walked down the aisle, and the officiator said, 'Who's giving away this girl?' And he raised his arm, 'I am.'"
McCarthy was also thrilled that her son's involvement did not stop there - he also planned a surprise speech for the bride.
She adds, "He grabbed the microphone and said, 'Can I say a few words?' He was like, 'I love my stepdad, I'm so glad for my mom, we're going to make a great family.' And it was really beautiful."
Country music legend George Hamilton Iv has died, aged 77. The singer passed away at a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday (17Sep14) just days after suffering a heart attack.
A statement posted on his official website reads, "Grand Ole Opry Legend George Hamilton IV The International Ambassador of Country Music passed away... at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital (Nashville,TN) with his family by his side. George IV suffered a serious heart attack on Saturday and had been in critical condition from that time. The Hamilton family greatly appreciates everyone's prayers!"
Hamilton began his music career while studying at the University of North Carolina, scoring a chart success with his song A Rose and A Baby Ruth in 1956. He went on to land a slew of hits and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1960.
He embraced folk music in the late 1960s, working with stars including Joni Mitchell, and in the early 1970s, he was named the International Ambassador of Country Music after becoming the first country singer to perform in the Soviet Union.
In the 1970s, Hamilton also hosted a number of TV shows in the U.K. and Canada and appeared in a West End musical based on the life of Patsy Cline.
He continued recording and performing into his 70s, and last performed at the Grand Ole Opry on 6 September (14), just days before his death.
Singer Adam Lambert has returned to the American Idol auditions to fill in for judge Keith Urban as he comforts his wife Nicole Kidman following the death of her father.
The country singer scrapped a planned charity concert performance on Thursday (11Sep14) following the death of Dr. Anthony Kidman in Singapore, and flew back to their native Australia to be by his wife's side. And, when Idol auditions began this week in New York, Urban was a no-show. Instead, Lambert, who was runner-up in the singing competition in 2009, took his place alongside Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. for a photo call at New York Marriott Brooklyn Bridge.
A spokesman for the talent show says, "Adam Lambert will be serving as guest judge at the New York auditions. Our thoughts are with Keith and his family during this difficult time."

Actress Octavia Spencer is a lifelong fan of Keanu Reeves after he unexpectedly gave her a helping hand when she was left stranded in her car just after arriving in Los Angeles.
The Oscar winner moved from her native Alabama to Hollywood to pursue a career in acting, and when she was on her way to one of her first auditions, she was dealt an untimely blow when her car broke down on one of Los Angeles' busiest streets.
She recalled the incident to U.S. TV personality Meredith Vieira on her talk show on Wednesday (17Sep14), saying, "No one would help me because my car was so dirty - I had been parking my car underneath a tree so birds were just having a field day all over my car and I never washed. It wasn't until Keanu Reeves came by. He was on a motorcycle, wearing his motorcycle helmet and sunglasses and I didn't recognise it was him when he pulled over. And he was like, 'Hey, do you need some help?'"
Spencer was planning on having the Matrix star get in the car while she pushed it to the side of the road, but he refused and pushed the car himself. She said, "I was so mortified. I was like, 'Oh no, hes gonna touch my car!'. And I was looking terrible, I had a shirt with holes (in it), I wasn't wearing any underwear. So to this day, I go to his movie every opening weekend, because that was a sweet thing to do. But I will never remind him of that moment because when I say I was looking foul, I don't want that memory to come back (to him)."
The stars of The Hunger Games movie franchise are dictating hairstyle trends among teens, according to actress Natalie Dormer. The Game of Thrones star, who will play Cressida in the final two Hunger Games films, had to shave half her head for the role to perfect a punky look and she admits she has spotted young fans with the same 'do'.
She explains, "I was actually quite surprised at Comic-Con, there's a lot of lopsidedness going on. Girls are doing the lopsided thing, very tight... down one side so it almost looks like they're shaved. That seems to be en vogue and I seem to be ahead of the curve.
"I don't know if the Katniss Everdeen (character) thing is catching on as well, but a lot of girls are wearing plaits to one side."
Last night we attended an event for The Maze Runner at 92nd Street Y and our ears are still ringing. The turnout for the event was amazing, which leads us to believe that this film is about two seconds away from taking off and casting these actors into stardom (farther than some of them already are). 92Y got a great collection of the cast, along with author James Dashner, in the house last night for a panel discussion, screenings of exclusive clips, a Q&A, and even a fan meet and greet afterwards!
1. The film already has a huge following.
Like we said, there was an awesome turnout last night! The house was absolutely packed at 7:30 when the event started. The place was teeming with fans, who were beyond excited to see the exclusive clips and hear what the cast and author had to say.
2. In that following, there are a lot of screaming, happy (crying) teenage fans.
Last night, you couldn’t even hear Matt Patches (the panel moderator) announcing some of the cast members (poor Alex Flores) when Dylan O’Brien, Thomas Brodie Sangster, and Jacob Latimore were brought on stage. People were screaming so loud, it was a little frightening for us. We can’t imagine how the actors felt!
3. The Cast is already like family.
And it’s not in the corny way some actors try to say “we really bonded while filming this movie and everyone’s best friends now!” You could tell, just from watching them together on stage, that they work as a unit. Everyone gets along and laughs together. They were even finishing each other’s thoughts on stage.
4. There is room for growth for all of the characters.

Usually fans aren’t particularly fond of changing characters appearances, personalities, or importance in a film, but TMR gets it right. Jacob Latimore’s character, Jeff, is a much smaller part in the books, but director Wes Ball expanded on this character, which allowed for Latimore to integrate himself into the group and really develop his sense of who his character was, and why Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) entering the maze was important. We also see a great deal of change in the way the character Gally (Will Poulter) is portrayed.
5. James Dashner is super cool with changing things.
As a writer, Dashner said he knows that taking a book directly from the page and turning it into a movie just doesn’t work. You can’t argue the book’s creator on that.
6. Every change that was made, was a very thought out and deliberate process to make this film an incredible experience for fans.
GIPHY/20th Century Fox
Wes would call or email Dashner over every change he was making, it didn’t matter how big a change it was. Wes had this entire world in which the glade and the maze existed, but he wanted to make sure that it matched up with what the fans were expecting
7. The director has all of the book fans in mind.
GIPHY/20th Century Fox
Every change that was made, was made with fans in mind. Which we think is what will really make this film appealing to not only just the fans of the books, but audiences interested in this dystopian future genre that is bursting onto the scene. People love when their opinions are taken into consideration and they feed off of what they’re given. If Wes continues down this road with the potential sequel, we’re sure this series will reach a huge magnitude of people.
8. It’s an amazing cast.
This really is a great group of young, talented actors put together. Will Poulter (who we missed very much last night) as Gally is mind-blowing, because you’ve never seen a side of Will so fierce and aggressive before. Kaya Scodelario is the only female (Theresa) in this film, but refused to play it like that, because her cast mates never made her feel like a girl, and she wasn’t going to take that crap from any of the gladers. Chris Sheffeild’s banishment scene as Ben is enough to really make you take him seriously as an actor, because it’s intense and makes you feel a whole range of emotions.
9.The series has a really strong, talented lead actor.
Dylan O’Brien really wow’d us in this role. He’s brought Thomas, this very intelligent and inquisitive character, to life in ways we could have only dreamed of. As an actor, he’s quite clearly taken on the leadership role amongst his cast mates, that his character Thomas has done in the glade. This is a role completely outside of his other work, very unlike his character Stiles on Teen Wolf. We think he knocked it right out of the park
10. The sequel might already be in the works!
GIPHY/20th Century Fox
Rumors have been flying that 20th Century Fox was already putting the sequel, The Scorch Trials (we're unsure if it will be the same name for the film) into motion. James Dashner was asked what some of his future plans were, and while he mentioned his upcoming books, when asked about any future things related to The Maze Runner, he replied “No comment,” with the biggest smile ever. You know that’s always a good sign.
Beyonce is facing a double embarrassment after she was caught miming at one of her concerts and airbrushing her recent vacation snaps.
A video clip has emerged online showing the singer lip-syncing at an On The Run show in Paris, France with her husband Jay Z. Beyonce is seen walking across the stage singing her hit track Partition, but when she leans down to embrace fans in the audience, she is seen holding the microphone by her side as the voice on the track continues. After realizing her mistake, she brings the microphone back to her face and attempts to continue miming where she left off.
The pop star was previously embroiled in a lip-syncing controversy after she was caught miming The Star-Spangled Banner during U.S. President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C. last year (13).
The concert slip-up is the latest embarrassment for the singer, who is also facing claims she had her holiday pictures air-brushed to make her appear slimmer. The snaps, which were taken onboard a luxury yacht, show Beyonce posing in a bikini on a set of steps, but eagle-eyed fans have spotted distortions in the image where the stairs do not meet properly, sparking speculation she had inches shaved off her thighs and waist before posting the images online.
