‘Studio 60’ Closes for Perry

Matthew Perry‘s TV fortunes have taken a dive – the former Friends star’s acclaimed new show has been axed.

Bosses at NBC put Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip on hold earlier this year after the series, which also featured former West Wing star Bradley Whitford and Amanda Peet, failed to set the ratings alight when it debuted last year.

TV bosses will replace the drama and another axed series, Crossing Jordan, with a new Heroes spin-off and The Bionic Woman remake, which will star British actress Michelle Ryan.

Another new show to debut this autumn will be Brooke Shields‘ new series about three high-powered women friends, which has been written by Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell.
