Britney Spears' new lingerie line has been in the works for the past decade. The pop superstar launched The Intimate Britney Spears collection on Tuesday (09Sep14), during New York Fashion Week, and she admits the catwalk show has been a long time coming.
She tells U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America, "Ten years ago, I was in Europe and I went to this vintage, like, artsy fartsy (sic), really, really cool, small boutique store with all of these lingerie and sleepwear lines...
"Ever since I went there I've wanted to do this, so it's been for 10 years that I've been trying to put this line together."
And the Toxic hitmaker reveals she took pride in getting involved in the design and creation process and refused to rush release the sexy sleepwear collection.
She adds, "It's very romantic, very vintage, muted colours, I'm really passionate about it... It's taken a year and a half to put it (the pieces) together. I've been very hands-on."
Dominic West took dance lessons for two months to perfect his role in new comedy Pride. The Wire star plays HIV-positive actor Jonathan Blake in the film, which is based on the true story of a group of lesbian and gay activists who descend on a Welsh coal mine during an industrial dispute.
In one scene, West is required to show off his fancy footwork and he enlisted a professional dance teacher to help with his moves.
The actor tells British magazine Event, "That dance was one of the most exhausting things I have ever done... It's b**ody tiring... It's a wonderful scene because my character, who's gay, is dancing to a track called Shame and the film is called Pride. It's a pivotal moment in the film... I really enjoyed learning to dance."
A love letter written by Dame Elizabeth Taylor to her on/off husband Richard Burton is up for sale. The screen legend penned the touching note to mark their 10th wedding anniversary in 1974, just weeks before they split, and three months before their first divorce.
In the letter, Taylor pledges her love to her unfaithful husband, writing, "My darling (my still) My husband... I wish I could tell you of my love for you, of my fear, my delight, my pure animal pleasure of you - (with you) - my jealousy, my pride, my anger at you, at times. Most of all my love for you, and whatever love you can dole out to me - I wish I could write about it but I can't... Anyway I lust thee, Your (still) Wife."
The note is expected to be sold for at least $59,500 (£35,000) in an online auction on the Paul Fraser Collectibles website.
The couple remarried in 1975 and divorced for a second time in 1976. Burton died in 1984 and Taylor passed away in 2011.
British actor Colin Firth cannot fathom why his famous 'wet shirt' scene in Pride And Prejudice launched him as a sex symbol. The King's Speech actor shot to fame following his role as Mr. Darcy in the 1995 TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, and a scene where he runs through water in a sodden white shirt is famous for launching his sex symbol status.
However, Firth is adamant he does not understand the stir it caused, telling Notebook magazine, "I've spent years trying to figure out why Mr Darcy's fully clothed swim in his breeches and shirt caused such a sensation. My wife certainly wouldn't go weak at the knees if I came home in a sodden shirt... There was a time when the image was tiresome, but the benefits outweighed the drawbacks. It made it much easier for me to find work and it changes your entire stature in the business."
Firth has been married to Livia since 1997.
Let’s not allow Jimmy Kimmel to soil the good name of Friends fan-fiction. Although the late night host’s heavily funded but halfhearted attempt at the time-honored art form warranted few laughs, it did remind us that there are plenty of worthwhile pieces of writing floating around the Internet devoted to the West Village sextet. Some are admirable in quality, others in sheer passion. And some deserve a hat tip simply because of how damn weird they are.
Following Kimmel’s reunion of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow, we hit the dark corners of the web to round up the strangest pieces of Friends fan-fiction we could find. Some rearrange the narrative of the beloved show in creative ways, some test the very fabrics of the laws of reality… and some simply vie to be as disturbing as conceivably possible. Take your pick.

It had been happening all night, specifically when they had been dancing. He was still slightly in shock that she had agreed to dance with him at all. "The One Where Chandler Finally Experiments" by JanaSelf explanatory.
"Chandler didn't know how he was going to face his friend in the morning. If he was this uncomfortable, just after having a conversation, he could only imagine how awkward things would be between them if he actually took him up on his offer. It was out of the question. Sex with friends was always a bad idea, anyway. Besides, he wasn't gay. He never imagined Joey was gay, either." Read the full story here!

Mad Men star Vincent Kartheiser is set to make his New York stage debut in director Garry Marshall's production of Billy & Ray. The actor will portray Hollywood screenwriter Billy Wilder opposite Larry Pine as author Raymond Chandler in the Off-Broadway comedy, about the odd pair's mid-1940s collaboration on the movie adaptation of Chandler's novel Double Indemnity, which led to the birth of the film noir genre.
Sophie von Haselberg and Drew Gehling have also been cast in the play, which begins previews at the Vineyard Theatre on 1 October (14), ahead of an official launch on 20 October (14).
Kartheiser, who started out in the theatre in his native Minneapolis, previously returned home last year (13) to play Mr. Darcy in a production of Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice.
