"I definitely want kids for sure. I gravitate towards the people in my life who have kids. I love fostering relationships with them and watching them discover the world and being a part of that. I definitely want that." Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto is eager to have children. He has been dating actor Miles McMillan since 2013.
Actor Zachary Quinto is convinced he may never take advantage of America's same-sex union laws because he is not a big fan of marriage "whether it's gay or straight." The openly gay star has been dating model Miles McMillan since 2013, but admits they may never exchange vows.
He tells The Hollywood Reporter, "There are benefits to the institution of marriage. I personally am not a huge fanatic of marriage, whether it's gay or straight. Commitment and relationships are a very individual thing, and I don't stand to tell other people what to do or who to do it with, but for me, love is defined by two people in an intimate and personal way, and superimposing an institution on that isn't necessarily for me, the most exciting idea."
However, the Star Trek actor insists he has warmed to the idea of walking down the aisle since same-sex unions started becoming legal in an increasing number of U.S. states, adding, "The fact that we've made such progress and marriage equality is very, very near and tangible and hopefully right around the corner, that frames it a little bit differently for me. It's something I have been an advocate for and a fighter for in the past eight years. I want to see that continue.
"And maybe there will come a day when it makes perfect sense for me personally. We'll see... I don't think either of us feel that we have to hurry up and do this."
Jennifer Aniston's hairstylist Chris McMillan has secretly married his boyfriend Martin Sevillano in a private ceremony in Hawaii. The low-key nuptials took place earlier this month (Nov14), a year after the couple met, reports People.com. McMillan, famous for creating the former Friends star's 'The Rachel' cut, has also worked with actresses Sandra Bullock, Cameron Diaz and Michelle Williams.
Sixties garage rock icon Gary Lane has lost his battle with lung cancer at the age of 76. The Standells bassist passed away last week (05Nov14).
Bandmate Larry Tamblyn broke the news to fans on the band's Facebook page, calling Lane "a wonderful person and good friend".
The bass player performed on the group's biggest hits Dirty Water and Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White.
He also joined his bandmates when the Standells appeared on The Munsters and in the movie Get Yourself a College Girl."
Tamblyn adds, "He was perhaps one of the most underrated bass players, whose unique solid style of bass playing is an inspiration to many rock musicians today. A quiet and humble man, Gary was a GIANT in my book."
Lane, real name Gary McMillan, co-founded the Los Angeles-based group in 1962. He left in 1966 and rejoined in 2000 for a reunion tour. He quit for good in 2009.
Actor Zachary Quinto has confirmed reports he is dating model Miles Mcmillan.
The Star Trek Into Darkness star has been linked to McMillan since late last year (13), but the two finally acknowledged the romance on Instagram.com over the weekend (23-24Aug14).
Quinto is currently in New York filming indie drama Michael, in which he plays the ex-boyfriend of James Franco's character Michael Glatze, a gay activist who renounced his homosexuality and became a Christian minister.
Taking a break from the set, Quinto posted a photo of McMillan on the photosharing app, along with the caption, "all this pretend is making me miss my real life baby. can't wait to see you soon @milesmcmillan..." A few days later, McMillan, who has worked for designers including Alexander McQueen, Dior Homme and John Varvatos, shared a photo of Quinto holding a small tot in a baby carrier on his chest, and wrote, "My baby with baby! @zacharyquinto"
Quinto previously dated Glee actor Jonathan Groff for three years until their split in 2013.

Performing is performing. ‘Nuff said. But there are different skills for singing and acting. You wouldn’t want a dance track by Patrick Stewart featuring Ian McKellan (okay, bad example, that sounds awesome). You also wouldn’t watch The English Patient with Justin Bieber. Or Apollo 13 with the boys from 98 Degrees. Or Crossroads with Britney Spears. But music artists like Mark Wahlberg, Queen Latifah, and Mandy Moore have all found great success by answering the call of the silver screen. Acting and singing are two different skills but some singers have managed to give some really amazing performances. Here are a few of our favorites.
Alecia Moore (Pink) in Thanks for Sharing
This heartfelt dramedy about sex addicts slipped under the radar. However, Pink’s performance shows that she’s more than just a singer... and acrobat. Her choice to use her real name to distinguish her acting from her music shows she’s serious. She plays a no-nonsense girl, which is pretty true to form, but she captures the humanity of the burden of sex addiction.
Mariah Carey in Precious
It’s hard to imagine the insanely high maintenance Carey without makeup. However, for her role in Precious, Carey abandoned her diva image in favor of playing a stern social worker. Carey’s acting abilities have incorrectly tied to the ill-fated flop Glitter. However, Carey is able to embody roles that are way more folksy and real than her media persona. Carey also deserves an honorable mention for her role in the film WiseGirls. The film is forgettable but her performance as a smart-mouthed waitress is impressive.
Cyndi Lauper in Vibes
Lauper rarely gets her due as an actress. She is an amazing performer and is only an Oscar away from EGOT-ing. Her thick New York accent puts her in that Joe Pesci category of actors who must play New Yorkers or Italian Americans. All the same, in the 1980s Lauper had top billing in a comedy about psychics starring Jeff Goldblum. The film did not do well box office wise but Lauper proves herself to be both compelling and funny.
Whitney Houston in Waiting to Exhale
It’s sad that Houston’s amazing talent is often eclipsed by her personal issues. Not only was she an amazing singer, she was a very gifted actress. Her role in this drama, based on the popular Terry McMillan novel, showcased not only her solid acting chops but also her ability to draw an audience. She was able to hold her own against the likes of Angela Bassett and Loretta Devine.
Diana Ross in Mahogany
Ross is an icon. Her songs are timeless. Her performance in this film is legendary. She plays a young girl who gets transformed into a supermodel with tons of booze and poor choices along the way. Plus, her love interests are Norman Bates and Lando Calrissian. Pop reference overload.
David Bowie in Labyrinth
Bowie’s performance in this bizarre children’s movie shaped a generation. They were either scared by goblins, engrossed in the music, or titillated by Bowie’s royal jewels visible in his tights. Bowie does deserve some credit for the acting challenge of performing exclusively with Muppets. Jennifer Connelly is one quarter Muppet, right?
Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls
Hudson earned an Oscar for her role in the film version of this popular musical. She has the pipes to sing the popular song “I Am Telling You.” She also has the ability to shine as the breakout star of this blockbuster. She is scrappy yet vulnerable, and proved to be the surprising highlight of this star-studded film.
Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur in Poetic Justice
Both Jackson and Shakur acting experience before Poetic Justice. Jackson did a lot of television shows like Fame and Diff’rent Strokes, which was an extension her squeaky clean pop star image. Shakur also kept his gangsta rap image for his role in Juice. Both actors stepped out of their comfort zones in this 1990s classic. Jackson opted for a harder exterior and a rougher neck. Shakur showed his softer side. Check out this clip that has enough F-bombs to rival Wolf of Wall Street.
Don Mitchell, the actor who played TV detective Ironside's sidekick, has died at the age of 70. He passed away from natural causes on Sunday (08Dec13).
Mitchell was best known for his role as ex-convict Mark Sange, the assistant to Raymond Burr's wheelchair-bound character in the U.S. police series from 1967 to 1975. He reprised the role for a 1993 TV movie.
He also appeared on TV shows The Fugitive, McMillan & Wife, Wonder Woman and I Dream of Jeannie, and starred opposite Pam Grier in 1973's cult film Scream Blacula Scream.
Mitchell was married to model Emilie Blake, with whom he had a daughter, from 1969 to 1970 and actress Judy Pace from 1972 to 1986. The couple had two daughters, one of whom is The Young and the Restless actress Julia Pace Mitchell.
Jaimie Trueblood/Warner Bros
Reno Wilson may be EVEN funnier in person. The hilarious actor dishes about life on the set of Mike & Molly, his role as Officer Carl McMillan and what he has in common with Jennifer Aniston, while keeping us laughing the entire time. One of the most fun interviews we’ve ever had!
Reason 1: Reno started our chat with some beat-boxing magic.
So Molly has decided on a career change: next up she'll be a writer and will conduct a ride-along. Can you give us a sneak peek as to how the ride-along goes awry?
You didn’t even ask. You just knew it was going to go awry! It’s uncomfortable for Mike because it kind of invades his personal space. Let’s be honest, the squad car is like his own personal therapy couch. Now she’s in the picture. This season you’re going to see a lot more police work. This is actually the first time she rides along, and she sees something happen. Nothing serious for Mike and Carl, but it doesn’t bode well with Molly. It’s glass, glass and somebody’s ass...Can I say that?
With all of the extra police work, will we see any guest stars? Anyone you'd like to guest star this season?
We do, we do. I always wonder why his grandmother raised him. What happened to his parents? I would love it if Richard Roundtree played my dad. I want Shaft to be my dad. I was at a function a couple months ago, and that is one good-looking man. I said that to him and he said, ‘Takes one to know one.’ I came home and told my wife, "Hey baby, Shaft said I’m good looking," and she said, "Shut your mouth," and I said, "I’m just talking about Shaft."
Reason 2: Reno then schooled us on our non-existant knowledge of Shaft and proceeded to sing Isaac Hayes' Oscar-winning theme song to the '70s blaxploitation classic.
Do you all hang out outside of work?
Yeah! We're pathetic! We can’t see each other enough. Billy and I have known each other for 9 years. Our kids play together. We go to birthday parties, holiday parties.
Do you have any comedic freedom on the show?
Our scripts are so tight. I speak kind of fast on the show, but I think the rhythm of our show is fast. We stay tight, tight, tight on the script.
How is it working on the set?
I gotta tell you, our set is the most thankful, grateful group of people you can be around. This is the best set I’ve ever been on. We’re on the old Friends stage. We’re still trying to figure out whose dressing room we're in. I think I’m in Matt LeBlanc’s room. None of us know, but we're all trying to figure it out.
Trivia Fact: Jennifer Aniston and I graduated high school together: same year, same class, same school Performing Arts High school, 1987. Soon I’ll be known for my haircut this season, and everybody will be getting the Carl.
Reason 3: Watch the show to find out!
Oscar-winning set designer Stephenie Mcmillan has died at the age of 71. The Brit helped create the world of Harry Potter and she picked up an Academy Award for her work on The English Patient.
She died on Monday (19Aug13) from complications of ovarian cancer at her home in Norfolk, England.
McMillan worked on more than 20 movies, also including A Fish Called Wanda and 2000's Chocolat.
A British council has set out contingency plans to deal with a real life Sharknado after a fan of the movie demanded assurances about how they would deal with a similar disaster. The cult horror movie, starring Tara Reid and Ian Ziering, has taken both the U.S. and U.K. by storm with its far-fetched plot about a tornado whipping up killer sharks from the ocean and depositing them on the streets of Los Angeles.
It has now emerged members of Glasgow City Council in Scotland have come up with a detailed plan to deal with such an incident after a movie fan contacted them with an official request for information.
A statement from the council reads, "Glasgow City Council is unaware of the term 'Sharknado'. Assuming it means that a tornado-style waterspout would lift sharks from the water with enough force to disseminate them across the city, causing potential hazards for citizens, then the following processes could cover the planning for and response to such an incident.
"Glasgow City Council, in line with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, works in collaboration with partner agencies to carry out risk assessments across the city council area. These assessments cover elements associated with severe weather, coastal flooding and animal-based risks.
"Whilst each of these three generic risks is rated as high, there is no specific risk identified for Sharknado within the Glasgow City Risk Register. The risks being rated as high mean they carry control measures and, where appropriate, specific contingency planning. With regards to weather and flooding, the control measures in place for incidents related to a tornado-style waterspout would be based around the Met Office (weather office) and SEPA (Scottish Environment Protection Agency) severe weather and flood early warning systems."
Rob McMillan, the fan who submitted the information request, tells Britain's Daily Record newspaper, "I've been barely able to sleep at the prospect of a Sharknado in Glasgow. Such was my level of fear, I had to contact the city council immediately. It was a relatively good humoured and informative response."
A continuation of "McMillan and Wife" without series co-star Susan Saint James, whose character, Sally, "died" in an airplane crash. The series follows the exploits of Stewart "Mac" McMillan, the Police Commissioner of San Francisco.
