A series of seven short films, directed by women, presented as part of Art & Entertainment's "Shortstories" anthology series. In "Her Father's Eyes," the suicide of a woman's father is doubly horrible, since the same disease that destroyed his life will probably destroy her life too. In "Point of Departure," a woman director's life is shattered by her friend's terminal cancer and her own collapsed lover affair, but she bravely picks up the pieces and assembles them into her new film.
In "The Stronger," the spirit of Christmas forgiveness fills a cheerful European theater club, but the holiday mood is dashed when two friends strip away the illusions of career, marriage and happiness. In "Circle," the love and care offered by two social workers is not enough to keep a runaway Mexican child from leaving his new home to search for his mother.
In "The Haircut," all a businessman wants is a shave and a haircut, but what he gets instead is a whole new attitude on life. In "The Doctor," a physician, though devoted to helping others, does not see his own family's needs until a tragedy turns his life around.
In "Bankrupt," when a young wife goes out to sell the family car, she ends up with more than she bargained for.
