"It was weird because I was in London at the time, when it all finally happened. It was about two o'clock in the morning waiting for the call... It wasn't like any other time when I would go party and stuff. My heavily pregnant wife was downstairs sleeping, so I just kind of joined her in bed and went to sleep!" Actor Jamie Dornan didn't really get the chance to celebrate winning the lead role in the big screen adaptation of racy thriller Fifty Shades Of Grey.
Illegal cycling charges against Alec Baldwin will be dismissed if the actor stays out of trouble. The 30 Rock star was served with a summons in May (14) after New York police caught him cycling north, against the flow of traffic, along Manhattan's Fifth Avenue.
He was also cited for disorderly conduct after allegedly chastising officers for demanding to see identification he didn't have in his possession.
Baldwin appeared before a judge on Thursday morning (24Jul14) to answer the count, but refused to offer up an apology to the two female cops who confronted him in May and instead told the court, "I’d rather pay the fine".
However, Judge John Delury decided instead on an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, giving the actor the chance to have the incident wiped off his record if he remains on his best behaviour for the next six months.
During the brief hearing, the judge asked Baldwin, "Can you stay out of trouble, Alexander?", to which he replied, "Sure, sure", prompting Delury to bid farewell by saying, "Be a good boy from now on. Have a good day."
The star had previously blasted police department officials for cracking down on cycling misdemeanours, taking to his Twitter.com blog and writing, "New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign."
Kelsey Grammer and his wife Kayte are celebrating after becoming parents to a baby boy. The 59-year-old actor's wife gave birth to a son named Kelsey Gabriel Elias Grammer on Tuesday morning (22Jul14) in Los Angeles. He is the couple's second child, joining their two-year-old daughter Faith.
Proud dad Grammer reveals the little boy will be known by his middle name, Gabriel, telling Entertainment Tonight, "Our son will be called Gabriel as there is a tradition in our family of going by our middle names. We are blessed and excited to have this lovely young man join our family - he is magnificent!"
The Frasier star, whose real name is Allen Kelsey Grammer, married Kayte in 2011.
He already has four other children from previous relationships.
A judge has given Shia Labeouf six weeks to agree a deal with prosecutors over his disorderly conduct case. The Transformers star appeared in court in New York City on Thursday morning (24Jul14) for a hearing connected to his arrest at a Broadway theatre last month (Jun14).
LaBeouf, 28, who was detained by police for disrupting a production of Cabaret, has denied charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, but his lawyer G. Robert Gage is attempting to work out a plea deal.
During the hearing on Thursday, the judge overseeing the case at the Manhattan court gave both sides six weeks to agree a resolution and ordered the star back for another hearing on 10 September (14).
After the Broadway outburst, LaBeouf enrolled in an outpatient rehab program to tackle his drinking.
Glee star Kevin Mchale was shocked when he took part in the U.K.'s racy adult game show Celebrity Juice because he thought he had signed up for an X Factor-style talent contest. The U.S. actor was approached last year (13) to host a British panel show but he was unaware of the term and assumed he was being offered a judging role on a high-profile singing competition.
However, he was left stunned when producers of the new programme landed him a spot on Celebrity Juice as an introduction to the format - and he was confronted with fellow guests telling lewd anecdotes and saucy, foul-mouthed jokes.
McHale tells British TV show This Morning, "They called me (and said), 'Do you want to do a panel show?' and I was, like, 'What is that? No.' To me it's like, oh is that sitting behind a panel and judging, like on The X Factor or something? I was like, sure, I can criticise people.
"I happened to be here (in the U.K.) last summer and I met up with some of them and they told me their ideas and they were so nice and funny and hilarious I was like, 'I will do whatever you guys want me to do.' They put me on Celebrity Juice so I could see it and I think that was a great introduction to the panel world!"
McHale's new show, Virtually Famous, pits two teams against each other to score points with their knowledge of online viral content and social media news. It is due to air in the U.K. from next week (beg28Jul14).
Funnywoman Joan Rivers showed off her generous side by delivering a meal to a businessman at his office after he missed her dinner party. The veteran comedienne hosted a bash at her apartment in New York City on Tuesday night (22Jul14) but Henry Schleiff, president of media giant Discovery Communications, was unable to attend.
Rivers was determined Schleiff should not miss out, so she sent a meal of steak, potatoes and beans, with chocolate cake for dessert, to his offices the following morning.
According to New York Post gossip column Page Six, Rivers included a cheeky note that read, "Keep the plates, they're stolen from QVC."
Troubled actor Orlando Brown had a brush with police in Los Angeles this week (beg21Jul14) when cops were called to investigate a disturbance. Police officers rushed to an apartment in North Hollywood in the early hours of the morning after neighbours reported hearing a dispute.
Brown, 26, tells TMZ.com he went to the property to confront a woman who had been pursuing him and explain to her boyfriend that there was nothing going on between them.
Editors of the website report police have launched an investigation after they obtained audio of the alleged incident in which a man is heard yelling threats. Brown's representative insists the voice on the tape is not that of the That's So Raven star.
Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr has moved to dismiss ongoing rumours about her love life by insisting she is "single" and "happy".
The brunette beauty split from British actor Orlando Bloom, the father of her young son Flynn, last year (13) and she was subsequently linked to wealthy Aussie businessman James Packer.
Speculation about the pair's rumoured romance has rumbled on, but Kerr has now insisted she is not in a relationship.
When asked whether she has a boyfriend, she tells the Sydney Morning Herald, "No... I'm really happy and content to just be single at the moment and to be focusing on Flynn and my work. It keeps me very occupied. Of course going on a date here and there is fine if it fits into the schedule."
Kerr also tackles the Packer rumours directly, adding, "We've been friends for years. (Rumours) happen all the time with me, it happens to Orlando (too). We understand it. As long as we both know (the truth), then it doesn't really matter what people think. People can speculate as much as they like."
World War Z star Mireille Enos has given birth to a baby boy. The 38-year-old actress and her actor husband Alan Ruck welcomed Larkin Zouey in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning (23Jul14).
A statement issued by the new parents to People.com reads: "We are awestruck by the arrival of our little boy. The whole thing is a miracle."
Little Larkin is the couple's second child - daughter Vesper Vivienne was born three years ago.
Enos and Ruck wed in 2008.
The Ferris Bueller's Day Off actor, 58, also has two older children from his previous marriage to Claudia Stefany.
