Harry Styles gave American football star Michael Sam something to smile about last week (27Aug14) when he wore the openly gay sportsman's St. Louis Rams jersey onstage during One Direction's concert in St. Louis, Missouri. Sam, who became the first openly gay man to get drafted by a National Football League team earlier this year (14), thanked the pop star in a tweet, writing, "@Harry_Styles thank you for your support!!!"
However, Styles' jersey tribute wasn't enough to score Sam an NFL place - he was waived by the Rams on Friday (29Aug14).
Ariana Grande's brother Frankie has upset the family of fellow U.S. Big Brother contestant Victoria Rafaeli by joking about taking her virginity. During a livestream on Saturday (30Aug14), Frankie Grande told two male houseguests they should "double team" Victoria and "take all her virginities".
The gag didn't go down well with Rafaeli's mother, who is now demanding an apology.
She tells TMZ.com she understood that Grande was joking but still feels her daughter has become a "target for rape".
The worried mum says, "I want Frankie to imagine people saying this stuff about his sister and see if he thinks it's funny."

Funnyman Bill Murray surprised attendees at a minor-league baseball game in Minnesota on Thursday night (28Aug14) by greeting fans at the entrance as he helped to check tickets. The Ghostbusters star is a co-owner of the St. Paul Saints and he decided to get back to basics by joining ground staff to take tickets at the Midway Stadium turnstiles for the team's last home game of the season.
The actor, who helped to revive the local kids' team in 1993, further delighted devotees by agreeing to pose for pictures while on the job.
Once inside the venue, he stepped up to the field to show off his sporting skills and even caught the ceremonial first pitch, thrown by Mayor of St. Paul, Chris Coleman.
Murray is no stranger to sporting events - the huge Chicago Cubs fan is a regular at the Major League Baseball team's home games in his native Illinois. He is also a part owner of several other minor league baseball teams, including New York Yankees feeder organisation the Charleston RiverDogs.
A police force tasked with monitoring personal appearances by controversial hip-hop stars to prevent violence is stepping up its surveillance in the wake of Marion 'Suge' Knight's shooting. The elite squad, known as the 'Hip-Hop Police', reportedly works off a watchlist of potentially troublesome stars which includes Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Fabolous, Wiz Khalifa, Fat Joe, Drake and Chris Brown.
They are charged with monitoring rap concerts and nightclub appearances by any artist suspected of attracting trouble, and editors at New York Post gossip column Page Six report the team is now ramping up its efforts following the shooting involving music mogul Knight in Los Angeles at the weekend (23-24Aug14).
A source tells the publication, "All New York club owners are required to inform the Hip-Hop Police in advance if anyone on the watch list is coming in. They want to be there to monitor the crowd and in case any trouble starts. They don't want any situations like the Suge Knight shooting. If something does go down, they want to already be on the scene."
Another source adds, "Their job is to investigate crimes and curtail violence in the hip-hop industry. So when they find out there is a beef between rappers, they monitor it. They are plainclothes cops, they go to clubs and shows."
Death Row Records boss Knight was reportedly shot six times, in the stomach, chest and arm, at a party hosted by Brown at an L.A. nightclub in the early hours of Sunday (24Aug14). He was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been released.
Iron Man Robert Downey, Jr. has branded the summer blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy the "best Marvel movie ever". The Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced a new superhero in Peter Quill/Star Lord, played by Chris Pratt, earlier this month (14), and the film quickly become a hit, surpassing the $500 million (£301 million) mark in the global box office.
In a recent interview with the Toronto Sun, Downey, Jr. graciously admits the newest addition to the Marvel family is the one to beat.
He said, "Guardians of the Galaxy, in some ways, is the best Marvel movie ever. It's odd for someone with - on occasion - an ego the size of mine to actually say that...
"It's like you have a great quarterback, and his brother plays for another team, and then you say: 'Look, this is their second cousin and we think he has a great arm and he should start.' And then he goes and wins the Superbowl!"
Ironically, Guardians director James Gunn said at the film's recent press conference in London that he and Pratt have discussed at length what would happen if Downey, Jr. and the rest of The Avengers had a face-off with Quill and his team.
Gunn revealed, "Chris and I were driving somewhere the other day and in the car we were having one of our ridiculous conversations and we were talking about all the different things that could happen to the Guardians in this universe, like we do endlessly, we talk about it constantly.
"And he was saying, 'Dude seriously, I really really think that Star Lord should kill Iron Man. Like it would be so awesome and if he shot him, people would be so surprised".
Rapper Wale has parted ways with his longtime management company, Jay Z's Roc Nation. The Pretty Girls hitmaker has been signed to the hip-hop mogul's company since 2009, but Wale has amicably split from his management team, according to XXL.
Wale has already signed on with 77 Management Group, a company that also represents American basketball star LeBron James.
In a statement, 77 Management Group bosses write, "Wale's growth and maturity is clear, as he continues work on his best project to date. Its rollout has a lot to do with his new management, who have only been associated with the biggest and best brands in the world."
While Wale has yet to reveal the reasoning behind the movie, speculation has surfaced that his split from Roc Nation was connected to a purported feud with another client of the company, rapper Meek Mill.
Last month (Jul14), Wale brushed off a Twitter.com attack from his Maybach Music Group label mate after he was accused of failing to support Mill's new album.
