Jenny Mccarthy's son Evan landed the actress/TV personality in trouble with the law by reporting her for texting and driving. The Scary Movie 3 star, who is engaged to Donnie Wahlberg, was trying to multi-task behind the wheel and her "rule follower" 12 year old decided to call the police.
She says, "We're driving in the car and of course I text and drive. He called the police on me and said, 'My mom is texting and driving right now'. True story."
It is not the first time young Evan has called the police - he once panicked when his mum stepped outside for a sneaky cigarette and he didn't know where she was: "He called 911 and said, 'I am alone in the house. My mom abandoned me'. I go back in the house and it's 911 and they're like, 'Your child just called. Is there an emergency?' I'm like, 'What? No! Everything is fine'."
Sir Paul McCartney made the best of his recent ill health as the break from work allowed him to spend more time with his wife and take his first proper vacation in years. The Beatles legend was hospitalised in Japan in May (14) after he fell sick with a virus, prompting him to cancel the rest of his Asian tour and push back his planned dates in the U.S.
McCartney returned to his native U.K. to recover, and was later pictured bouncing back to health on a sun-soaked vacation with his wife Nancy Shevell in Ibiza, Spain before restarting his American tour on 5 July (14).
The 72-year-old musician has now revealed he actually enjoyed his sick leave as he relished the chance to rest and recuperate.
He tells Rolling Stone, "People say to me, 'Aw, that must have been terrible for you.' Well, no, actually. No one ever tells me to rest! It was like summer holidays in school or something. I thought, 'Yeah, I can get into that'. I just took it really easy at home in England..."
McCartney reveals he had time to read a film script written by his son, experiment with some new music, and take up jogging before heading off on a vacation.
He adds, "My son-in-law had a film script - plenty of time to read that. I started jogging a bit. The weather was great, so that was cool. And then I went into my recording studio and did some music that I didn't have to do, some experimental stuff. That was a really nice musical awakening, and it made me feel better... One part of this rest program was, I said to Nancy, 'Hey, we can take a holiday! A real holiday, where we go away.' So we went away to Ibiza."
Model Christie Brinkley paid tribute to her ex-husband Billy Joel's late mother by writing a heartfelt letter praising the family matriarch. The Piano Man's mum, Rosalind Nyman Joel, died aged 92 on Sunday (13Jul14) at a hospice in Long Island, New York.
Brinkley and Joel's marriage ended 20 years ago, but the blonde beauty was moved to write an Instagram.com post about her former mother-in-law, who was grandmother to the former couple's daughter Alexa Ray Joel.
Along with a youthful black and white photo of Rosalind, Brinkley added in the caption, "At sad times we look for ways to find the good to lift our spirits, So I have only to imagine what Rosalinda's Eyes have seen to find cause to celebrate a life well lived!
"Just in this year alone she saw her son, (Billy Joel) receive the Kennedy Center Honor, the highest cultural honor possible, from the President of the United States no less, and Rosalind greatly appreciated the arts (sic)!
"She also saw her son get a regular gig at Madison Square Garden (where he already holds a record and where Roz is welcomed on a first name basis!). And her eyes sparkled with pride and joy as the former Gilbert and Sullivan chorus girl, watched her granddaughter Alexa perform at the famed Cafe Carlyle surrounded by a large group of her friends enjoying themselves.
"I know as a mom myself that when you see your kids happy healthy and enjoying their passions you feel content and happy. Rosalinda's Eyes will live on not only in the song inspired by her, but in Billy, and Alexa... and Nanny Roz herself would find that worth celebrating. #cherishedgrandmother #restinpeace (sic)."
Members of Michael Jackson's extended family are set to become the stars of a new reality TV show. The six-episode series is due to premiere on America's Reelz cable channel in November (14) and will focus on the ex-wife of Jackson's brothers Jermaine and Randy, Alejandra Jackson, and her children.
Alejandra and her family moved out of the Jackson family home in Encino, California following the Thriller superstar's death in 2009 and they suggest the new show will examine the reasons behind their move.
Speaking to reporters at the summer TV critics' tour in America, Alejandra's daughter Genevieve said, "We didn't want it to happen that way... We were very sheltered. There's a lot of outside people coming in and out of our house. We had to watch what we said."
Son Donte says of the move, "Some of the politics came into play."
Alejandra was originally married to Randy Jackson, who is father to Genevieve and Randy Jr., but later married his brother Jermaine and gave birth to another two sons - Jaafar and Jermajesty. She has also raised Donte since the age of two after he was adopted by her former father and mother-in-law, Joe and Katherine Jackson.

Publishing tycoon Rupert Murdoch is wanted for questioning by British police as part of an inquiry into alleged criminal activity at his newspapers. The news comes after Murdoch's former News of the World editor Andy Coulson was found guilty on a charge of conspiracy to intercept communications at the Old Bailey in London on Tuesday (24Jun14).
Rebekah Brooks, the ex-News International chief executive and former editor of Murdoch's British newspapers The Sun and the News of the World, was cleared of all charges relating to the sensational phone-hacking trial.
According to reports, Murdoch was contacted by officers at Scotland Yard last year (13) but they agreed to his lawyer's request to wait until the trial was over to quiz the media mogul.
He is expected to be questioned "under caution" as part of their probe into alleged criminal activities at his British newspapers, and his son James, who was executive chairman of News International in the U.K., may also be interviewed.
In 2011, Murdoch and his son attended a British Parliament inquiry into the phone-hacking scandal, during which the tycoon was attacked by an interloper wielding a cream pie.
Stars including Hugh Grant, Jude Law, Sienna Miller and Steve Coogan were among the high-profile victims of the News of the World's hacking scandal. The publication was closed by Murdoch in 2011.
A jury is still deliberating further charges against Coulson, who denies allegations of conspiring to commit misconduct in a public office.
