Iconic British band Small Faces travelled the world in search of a batch of missing demo tapes when they were compiling a special box set to mark the band's 50th anniversary. The Lazy Sunday hitmakers formed in 1965 and surviving members Kenney Jones and keyboardist Ian McLagan plan to mark the group's milestone birthday next year (15) by releasing a greatest hits compilation and a collection of rarities and early recordings.
However, when they began sifting through archive material for the project, the pair noticed a bunch of early demo tapes was missing, and they launched a "global search" for the recordings, eventually tracking them down in New York.
Drummer Jones tells NME magazine, "When we started working on it, we found most of the master tapes had gone missing - either stolen or lost. It's typical for the Small Faces - we had bad luck all the way... But we set off on a global search and found some tapes at Sony Records in New York. Between that and my archives, we were able to put it all back together."
Justin Bieber is setting up home in producer Dallas Austin's Atlanta, Georgia mansion while he continues to search for his own dream pad in the city. The Baby hitmaker is said to have moved in to the R&B hitmaker's four-bedroom property last week (ends14Feb14) after signing a three-month rental agreement.
Reports suggest the teen superstar is looking to purchase a property in the swanky Buckhead district of Atlanta, where his mentor Usher lives.
The singer is currently in the process of selling his Calabasas, California estate following a series of clashes with locals, including an alleged egg attack on a neighbour's home in January (14).
The incident is currently under investigation by authorities.

The Internet has provided a platform for lesser-known filmmakers to present their work to a mass audience. This is clearly beneficial, but it can be daunting and time-consuming for the average person to search for the right film. This is a shame, however, because some of the best content can be found in cyberspace by creative individuals who aren't yet controlled by the studio system. On the web, filmmakers from around the world are releasing short films to express themselves and to garner a wide audience. Each month, we're going to present 10 of the best short films that you can watch online immediately. Below are our picks for February 2014 (click the title of a film to watch on YouTube or Vimeo).

Philomena Lee, the real-life inspiration for the film Philomena, was honoured by the mayor of Los Angeles on Tuesday (11Feb14) for her adoption rights work. The Irish woman's true story of her search for the son she was forced to give up for adoption in the 1950s was brought to life by Steve Coogan and Dame Judi Dench in the acclaimed movie, and now Lee is garnering her own recognition.
Although L.A. mayor Eric Garcetti was not on hand for the event, he signed a certificate of recognition and noted her good work in a statement that reads: "I am proud to welcome Ms. Philomena Lee to Los Angeles. I am inspired by her story. We hope that this recognition helps in some way to raise awareness of the the issue of forced adoptions and to shine a light on the past to open the way for the healing of so many mothers and their lost children."
Following the ceremony, Lee admitted all the attention she has received over the past few months has been a little overwhelming, telling the Los Angeles Times, "Just a few weeks ago, I was just an ordinary housewife. And then all of a sudden, this has just snowballed. I'm coping with it as much as I can."
The accolade comes less than a week after Coogan and Lee met with Pope Francis in Rome, Italy, where they participated in a press conference as part of a campaign to urge Catholic Church officials in Ireland to release thousands of adoption files.
Lee has a chance to earn even more recognition on 2 March (14) at the Academy Awards - Philomena is nominated in three categories, including Best Picture.
British actress Sienna Miller is stepping back in time to star in a period comedy based on Jane Austen's novel Lady Susan. The Alfie star has been cast as the leading lady in Love And Friendship, about a scheming widow who embarks on a search for suitable husbands for herself and her daughter.
Chloe Sevigny will co-star in the film, which will be directed by Whit Stillman.
Production on the project is due to begin in the Irish countryside this summer (14).
Seattle may have owned the 2014 Superbowl last week, but the real stars were online on Twitter. Live-tweeting has turned everyone and their iPhone into a bona fide commentator, and some of the best tweets came from our favorite celebrities. Tyra Banks was clearly watching America's Next Top Footballer, Aziz Ansari made us all laugh-weep for the days of Friday Night Lights, and Hillary Clinton threw some beautiful shade towards Fox, making her the real winner of the Superbowl.

Lawyers representing embattled pop star Justin Bieber have filed legal documents in an attempt to prevent the release of images showing the singer in police custody. The request comes after footage emerged of the Baby hitmaker being strip-searched by police in a jail in Florida following his arrest last month (Jan14).
The motion, filed late on Friday (07Feb14) by Bieber's legal team states, "While in custody at the Miami Beach police station the defendant was captured on videotape in various states of undress which show intimate personal parts of the defendant's body."
The documents allege the release of the video showing Bieber's strip search is in violation of the law and it emerged before the pop star's lawyers were made aware of the existence of the footage.
Last week (ends07Feb14), it was revealed a police officer was facing an internal investigation over claims she attempted to take a picture of the singer while he was behind bars.
Bieber denies charges of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended licence and resisting arrest without violence and is due to appear in court in Florida on Friday (14Feb14).
Simon Cowell is returning to the British TV talent show he launched a decade ago. The music mogul has announced he will be back among the judges for the 11th season of The X Factor later this year (14).
He says, "It's been three years since I last judged the competition and I'm excited to find a global superstar.
"The UK X Factor has set the benchmark in finding worldwide superstars over the years - including One Direction, Leona Lewis, Cher Lloyd, Olly Murs, JLS and Little Mix."
Cowell quit the U.K. show to concentrate on launching the talent search in the U.S.
It has not yet been revealed who will be joining Cowell.
