Acting veteran Dame Diana Rigg is set to make her debut at Scotland's iconic Edinburgh Festival Fringe later this year (14). The annual comedy event attracts performers of all levels and now the Game of Thrones star will take part for the first time at the age of 76.
Rigg has adapted her book, No Turn Unstoned: The Worst Ever Theatrical Reviews, into a stage show, and she will base her act around the critics' words which have haunted her and her fellow screen stars.
She tells Britain's The Times, "People say they don't read them, but the awful part of it is that you can tell them from the atmosphere on the second night. Certainly from people around you because they don't know what to say if it has been absolutely awful."
The show will run at the Assembly Checkpoint venue in Edinburgh from 14-23 August (14).
The program highlights stories about what some regard is the most haunted city in the United Kingdom. Steeped in mystery, murder and mayhem, Edinburgh's legacy is plagued by invasion, disease and persecution.
