Actress Emmy Rossum has reportedly found love with a Hollywood director following her split from her Shameless co-star Tyler Jacob Moore. The couple, which played lovers in the U.S. version of the British TV show, reportedly parted ways earlier this year (13), and Rossum has now been linked to the director of her new movie Comet.
Editors at New York Post gossip column Page Six report Rossum is now dating Sam Esmail, who directed her in the upcoming drama film.
Actress Emmy Rossum has reportedly split from her boyfriend and Shameless co-star Tyler Jacob Moore. The couple, whose characters Fiona and Tony dated in the hit U.S. series, ended its relationship after two years, according to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six.
Rossum is said to have attended an Independence Day (04Jul13) party in New York's Hamptons and was overheard telling pals she is "single again".
The 26-year-old star appears to be throwing herself into her work following the break-up - on Saturday (06Jul13), she tweeted, "Hope you all had a happy and safe 4th (of July). Back to work starting tonight on a new film called Curfew in my home state New York."
British actress Anne-Marie Duff turned down the chance to learn the art of burlesque with Dita Von Teese for a U.K. reality TV show. The former Shameless star, who is married to Hollywood actor James McAvoy, has revealed she was approached by producers looking to put together a new TV talent show with famous faces learning sexy dance routines in Las Vegas.
Duff admits she was tempted by the offer, but eventually turned it down over fears it would affect her acting career.
She tells Britain's Event magazine, "They asked me to train as a burlesque dancer with Dita Von Teese in Las Vegas, which sounded fabulous! I turned it down because I'm an actress and this is reality - I don't want people to see (the real) me."
Despite being packaged as a sugary-sweet, PG-rated boy band, no one flinches when One Direction's band members engage in explicitly lewd behavior. From smoking to dating women their mothers' age to openly publicizing their respect for a voluminous rack, One Direction rarely receives any criticism for their outlandish, provocative behavior.
Wednesday, a video (below) of 1D bandmates Harry Styles and Zayn Malik going down and getting dirty during Tuesday night's concert in Ohio hit the web. After Harry jumped into a candy thong provided by a horny fan, Zayn kinkily bit off a piece. Risqué, say hey!
And yet, their young fans don't blink an eye. How is it that One Direction — whose ages range from 19-21 — can get away with this overly sexualized behavior? When Justin Bieber, 19, engages in similar stunts, he's torn apart. Bieber gets flack enough for his tats, alleged recreational marijuana use, and posting photos of fan's undergarments, but when One Direction pulls the same sh*t, they manage to avoid berating.
Bieber was birthed as a teen-heartthrob when he first released his 2009 smash "One Time," when he was just 15 years old. He was immediately pigeon-holed as the innocent, hair-swooshing, high-voiced pop star, so when he got older and attempted to step out of the squeaky clean bubble, his behavior — which, let's face it, is probably age appropriate — was perceived as lashing out. In comparison, 1D members Styles, Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and the often-forgotten Louis Tomlinson, started out in the music biz already in the throws of teenage rebellion.
As such, the One Direction men get away with acting their age. Since their fans have no knowledge of their idols as pre-pubescent cherubs, they are free to give off the vibe that they are above their sugary music. They just don't really give a s**t, it seems, about the fact that their music and image is tailored towards tween gals. Despite their teeny-bopper lyrics, their personal lives and public image explode with shameless hyper-sexuality. And their older fans eat it all up.
One Direction is technically more of a manufactured product of pop culture than Bieber is, since Simon Cowell literally stuck the five late-teens together after they auditioned for the British X Factor as solo acts with the insight that, as a group, they had the potential to seize teens hearts everywhere. But while Bieber sprouted before E! News' camera lens, the One Direction guys were able to mature out of the spotlight. Their more "normal" adolescences shielded them (at least for a while) from the fame machine, allowing 1D members to maintain a sense of their individuality. While Bieber's recent antics seem like a call for help or a desperate attempt to prove his manhood, I can't help but feel like the One Direction members are being their regular goofy, occasionally raunchy, selves. And who can fault them for that?
Another X factor (see what I did there?) could be that British audiences give greater lattitude of acceptance for sexual behavior in the public sphere. While America has a small tolerance for nudity on TV, reducing sexually explicit shows to only premium channels, British TV shows openly boast naked bods. Perhaps Brits are more chill with sexuality, so 1D's racy mannerisms don't really phase them. And when One Direction's mannerisms are transfered to an American audience, we are more willing to concede, "They're British, it's different over there." (Canada isn't granted the same leniency.)
We're not advocating that One Direction should be held to the same rigid standards Bieber is — we can all stand to loosen up a bit, and we don't exactly mind watching Harry and Zayn in their kinky element. Yet a discrepancy remains between One Direction's rather immature — yet awfully catchy — tunes geared towards a young audience, and their behavior. We're amazed and intrigued that there isn't more of a backlash against these lads, and that antics such as the candy thong don't drive young fans away. If anything, more and more fans wind up gawking at the British hunks. The reining Prince of Pop could serve to learn a thing or two from these British imports.

British actress Tina Malone is pregnant after undergoing fertility treatment at the age of 50. The Shameless star has announced she is in the very early stages of her pregnancy after she underwent in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatments with husband Paul Chase, who is 19 years her junior.
Confirming the news on U.K. TV show This Morning, she says, "I am pregnant. We are delighted."
The pregnancy comes after Malone lost a staggering 154 pounds (69 kilograms), and the actress has defended her decision to have a baby in her 50s.
She adds, "I think it's important that I'm much more healthy than I was 20 years ago. I've had blood tests, we've had everything done. And physically, mentally, emotionally, and even financially... I'm better than I have been for 20 years. And I've got the best man or partner I could ever have.
"We realise it's early but it would just be so nice. But we are aware there can be pitfalls, we are only five weeks, and we're ready. The more relaxed you are with IVF and the more positive you are the better."
Malone already has a grown-up daughter from a previous relationship.
"I said to Matt Weiner, when I took the unknown role on Mad Men, that I drew the line at gay paedophilia. I had just done that on Shameless for a couple of seasons, so I said, 'Alright, as long as I'm not a gay paedophile..'" U.S. TV veteran Harry Hamlin on signing up for a guest spot as ad executive Jim Cutler on Mad Men.
Filmmaker Terry Gilliam is leaving Hollywood behind to return to the theatre as a director for the English National Opera. The Monty Python and the Holy Grail star will direct a revival of Benvenuto Cellini at the London Coliseum in June, 2014, and the 72 year old can't wait to take on Hector Berlioz's masterpiece, about the titular Italian sculptor.
Insisting the French composer was "wonderfully ahead of his time", Gilliam adds, "He had too many ideas, he was spectacular, he was shameless, the music is so extreme - and I kind of identify with him."
But the actor, who directed a production of The Damnation of Faust for the company in 2011, worries his first-time success was just "beginners luck," joking, "Now let the truth be told."
Another season, another winner. Project Runway judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen, and guest judge Michael Kors have handed out the Season 11 winning title to Portland, Ore.-based designer Michelle Lesniak Franklin.
Season 11 broke the mold as the first-ever Teams Edition of Project Runway — and Franklin was able to come out the winner despite all the drama that happened on and off the runway. She had to face numerous guest judges, including Bette Midler, country singer Miranda Lambert, Shameless star Emmy Rossum, and even Susan Sarandon. But despite coming out on the bottom in many of the challenges, Franklin was still able to beat 15 other designers (Patricia Michaels and Stanley Hudson among them) for the title.
Of course, the winning title came with a whole slew of prizes. Franklin walked away with $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris to put towards her own line, a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine, a 2013 Lexus GS 350, a $50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel, and an opportunity to design a line that will be exclusively sold on Lord & Taylor. Not to shabby of a lot!

This week’s edition of Leanne’s Spoiler List features five fabulous shows that will make you giggle with excitement and gasp from all the amazing moments that will soon flood your TV screens. Are you ready to learn the truth?! I chatted with Glee star Jane Lynch and she promised me that fans will soon learn the answer to a question they’ve been pondering for nearly a year now.
Arrow’s Stephen Amell reveals what’s coming up next for the ladies in his life and Jesse Spencer teases that an old flame is coming back to ignite some problems on Chicago Fire. Plus, I’ve gathered Caroline-centric scoop for The Vampire Diaires and watched this week’s Community to bring you all the Greendale details you could ever want. This week’s list is packed to the brim with spoilers so grab a spoon and dig in to the deliciousness!
1. Glee: Oh Baby (Daddy)!
Let's travel way back to the beginning of Season 4 when we still remembered that at one point Sue had a baby. Since these early episodes many fans have forgotten about this off-the-wall season 3 pregnancy because we haven’t heard much — or anything actually —about Sue’s sweet baby Robin. However, when I caught up with Jane Lynch Monday evening the Glee star promised me that’s all about to change.
When asked if we’re ever going to learn who’s the father of little Robin, Lynch was quick to answer: “We do! You’re actually the first person I’ve told,” the actress said with a smile. “But I wont tell you who.” Did you hear that, gleeks? Finally we’re getting some answers! The baby daddy will be revealed in the Season 4 finale and Lynch says that she was thrilled to finally know the truth. “I thought it was great and so funny! I was a little surprised — I had absolutely no inkling.”
Lynch reveals that you’ll be completely baffled when you learn the mystery man's identity. For months Glee fans have been under the impression that he's someone who lives in the spotlight, so can fans expect to meet a famous father? “Maybe, maybe not.” Lynch teases. “I can’t tell you, but it was hilarious and wonderful and apt… There’s no way you would know.” Start throwing your guesses down in the comments Glee-bees!
Bonus Scoop! After the terrifying (yet totally fake) school shooting, Sue has been MIA from McKinley. But Glee fans will find out what our favorite coach has been up to in this week’s episode, “Lights Out.” Lynch explains, “Well, Sue is teaching aerobics now and she has a new life at The 23 Hour Fitness.” Wait… The 23 Hour Fitness? When do they close? Once again the Glee actress has all the answers, saying, “Well they close from 12 midnight to one in the morning so they can scrub down the steam room.” Ah, got it. Thanks Jane, please continue.
“She’s kind of acting like, ‘Hey I’ve got a new lease on life!’ but I think she misses McKinley so hopefully she’ll come back," Lynch says. I know for a fact that our brave and cape-wearing Blaine Anderson — a.k.a. Nightbird — is headed out to rescue our damsel in distress, so I have a feeling she’ll be back at McKinley in no time. Want more Glee? Of course you do! Check out the six sensational songs from “Lights Out” and plenty of scoop from the episode right here!
2. Chicago Fire: It’s Getting Hot in Here
On Monday I looked into Jesse Spencer’s piercing blue eyes and after taking two seconds to daydream about us frolicking in a forest together, I got down to scoop-snagging business. This first season of Chicago Fire has been a fiery whirlwind of action and drama, but Spencer teases that things are just heating up for Casey. “His ex-flame comes back and rekindles his relationship,” he says.
Spencer explains that this blast from the past will lead Casey into dangerous territory. “Basically after that happens he takes a crazy turn and goes on a roller coaster ride,” the actor says. “Casey kind of goes on the revenge trail which turns into some massive action sequences which we were just literally shooting yesterday.” Sounds like we’ve got a lot of hot stuff coming up! (Pun intended. Sorry. I couldn't help it.)
The former House actor says he was eager to act out Casey’s downward spiral on set. “To be honest I was excited about it. I love the physical stuff and I think that this show has offered me what I didn’t get before,” Spencer says. “In House is was all so cerebral for eight years so now it’s good to chase someone down. It’s great and I’m really enjoying the physicality of it.” And we’re really enjoying watching him do it!
3. The Vampire Diaries: Beware of The Woods
Confession: I absolutely adore The Vampire Diaries' Caroline Forbes. To me this blonde beauty can do no wrong and I’ll openly root for her and any guys she even breathes on because I think she’s a sweetheart and should have anything she wants. Steroline? I ship it. Klaroline? Damn straight. So after this week’s sure-to-be amazing backdoor pilot for The Originals, I’m excited to return to Mystic Falls and see more of Caroline being her badass self.
At this point, the majority of our characters have already had the displeasure of meeting Silas — and experienced his terrifying mind tricks in the process. In episode 21, “She’s Come Undone,” Caroline will finally come face-to-face with the psychotic bloodsucker, but not in the way that you would expect.
That’s right! Silas will once again cloak his true identity and appear to our former Miss Mystic Falls disguised as someone who will really mess with her head. Of course I can’t tell you which TVD favorite sparks a dangerous conversation with an unknowing Caroline, but I can tell you to be wary of any character lurking in the woods. I seriously can’t wait for Silas to stop this body switching nonsense and finally reveal his true identity — this is getting confusing!
4. Community: Freaky Friday at Greendale
This Thursday’s all-new episode of Community, “Basic Human Anatomy,” finally feels like the good 'ol days. Annie and Shirley are obsessing over schoolwork, Pierce is mumbling nonsense, Troy and Abed partake in a hilarious body-switching bit, and Jeff continuously expresses how much he doesn’t care about any of their problems. I heart you Greendale!
It’s a delightfully fun episode — especially when Troy and Abed switch bodies after declaring their love for all Freaky Friday-esque movies. Their acting is so damn convincing that you’ll want to rewatch the episode again just to catch all the quirky characteristics the two best friends have mastered about the other. Unfortunately the episode is not all fun and games, and two of our beloved GCC students have a heart-to-heart talk that could forever change the dynamics of the group.
Community fans can also look forward to seeing Dean Pelton channel his inner cool guy when he thinks he has switched bodies with Jeff. Warning: There are plenty of shirtless scenes and you may be blinded from the dean’s pasty white complexion. I’d suggest having a pair of sunglasses close by when watching the episode to avoid any damage to your retinas.
5. Arrow: Olicity Overload (In the Best Possible Way)
On Tuesday morning, I had the pleasure of interviewing Stephen Amell for the second time and I can now officially confirm that he is, without a doubt, the kindest and sweetest actor I have ever chatted with. Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let’s jump straight into some Arrow scoop, shall we?
We know that Thea and Roy are determined to discover the identity of Starling City’s hooded vigilante, and Amell promises that Oliver will learn of his sister’s plan before she can get too close. "Oliver does catch wind of this before the end of the season which does lead to some interesting interactions between the three of them," Amell says. "It's time for Thea in the finale to really stand on her own and have some heroic moments of her own." I honestly think that Thea could be such a badass sidekick and I know that Willa Holland is more than ready to have her action moments.
And speaking of fierce females, many fans have fallen head over heels for Team Arrow’s IT girl Felicity — and fingers crossed Oliver will too! "In episode 21 and in episode 22, Emily and I get very close." Amell says. "I think that every day he sees Felicity, he finds out how capable she is...By the time we get to 22 and 23, 23 especially, with the stakes as high as they are, it's not the IT girl in the Arrow cave; it's you are a member of the team, on equal footing with myself and with Diggle, and we need you as much as you need us in this scenario.”
Amell says that Ollie’s working relationship with Felicity always has the possibility of evolving into something more. “I think Oliver sees her as an equal and a very capable individual. And just based on her knowing more about me than just about anyone at this point in my everyday life, she can probably challenge me in ways that other people can't, and that's always very attractive," he says. Team Olicity!
Who do you think is Sue’s baby daddy on Glee? Excited to see more Oliver/Felicity scenes in Arrow? Which Vampire Diaries character do you think Silas will disguise himself as next? Tell me everything in the comments below!
