Rapper Nicki Minaj has brushed off her labelmate Dj Khaled's romantic marriage proposal, insisting it was all just promotion for their new music collaboration. The producer filmed what appeared to be a heartfelt video message for MTV.com last week (ends26Jul13), expressing his desire to make the Super Bass beauty his wife and he even pulled out a large diamond ring.
In the clip, he spoke directly to Minaj and said, "I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you to be mine... I want to let your fans know, my fans know, my family, your family, that I wanna marry you. I been working hard to get this ring... Nicki Minaj... will you marry me?"
Minaj remained silent about the proposal until late on Monday (29Jul13), when she shared a Twitter.com link with fans to their new promo for the track I Wanna Be With You and phoned in to New York's Hot 97 radio station to address the speculation about her love life.
The hip-hop star confessed she was just as stunned by the video proposal as everyone else - but she never took it seriously.
She told DJ Funkmaster Flex, "I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up (laughing) like the rest of the world...
"Nobody in my life took it seriously... Let me set this straight: Khaled is my brother, OK? And Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal y'all, let it go! He was kidding!
"It was just another way for him to give the world a glimpse of the feeling of this record... He's not attracted to me, he doesn't like me. We're brother and sister."
Khaled is not the first artist signed to rap mogul Bryan 'Baby' Williams' Cash Money Records label or Lil Wayne's imprint Young Money Entertainment to fall for Minaj - Drake has also previously professed his love for his Moment 4 Life collaborator.
Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey is set to wed after proposing to the girl he has been dating since he was 11. The actor met make-up artist Seana Gorlick at middle school and now he has confirmed to Us Weekly that she has agreed to become his wife.
He says, "I've been wanting to ask her to marry me for years now and I finally did it."
Gorlick showed off her diamond engagement ring at the Variety Power of Youth event in Universal City, California on Saturday (27Jul13), where her husband-to-be was honoured for his work with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Posey, who played Jennifer Lopez's son in Maid in Manhattan, has revealed he proposed during a recent vacation in Hawaii, explaining, "I didn't know if I was going to do it - I didn't have a plan or anything. I was so damn nervous. I just asked her and it was the coolest thing in the world. Her reaction was the sweetest. I can't even explain it!
"I've known her since I was 11 and been in love with her since I was 12. I'm so inspired by her. I think she's the coolest, most raddest (greatest) person ever. She's so nice and so cute."
Hip-hop star Dj Khaled has declared his love for rapper Nicki Minaj and proposed to her in a heartfelt video message posted online. The producer, 37, has filmed a short clip for MTV.com expressing his desire to make the Super Bass hitmaker his wife and at the end of the footage, he even pulls out a large diamond ring.
In the video, he says, "I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you to be mine. The only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I know that you're busy...
"You need a man like me in your life that's gonna take care of you and respect you. You gotta take your time and think about it, I understand... but I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and about how serious this is to me. I want to let your fans know, my fans know, my family, your family, that I wanna marry you. I been working hard to get this ring... Nicki Minaj... will you marry me?"
Minaj has yet to respond to the proposal from her Cash Money Records labelmate.
Kelly Osbourne kept her engagement secret for more than six months after her long-term boyfriend Matthew Mosshart proposed over the New Year holiday. The pop star-turned-TV personality and Mosshart revealed their news in this week's (begs15Jul13) issue of Britain's Hello! magazine, and in the accompanying interview, they admitted they have been engaged since the start of 2013.
The vegan pastry chef whisked his girlfriend to Anguilla for New Year's Eve (31Dec12), and popped the question in the early hours of New Year's Day (01Jan13).
Mosshart says, "At 2am, when the festivities had wound down a little, I tried to pull her away from everyone. I got down on one knee... we were on a balcony that overlooks the ocean. It was just beautiful."
Osbourne, who had previously told her partner it was her dream to be proposed to in Anguilla on New Year's Eve, adds, "I started to cry."
The couple has already started planning the ceremony for next year (14), with Osbourne admitting she wants to marry at her childhood home in England and recycle the material from her mother Sharon's wedding dress for her own gown.
She adds, "I want to marry in the house I grew up in... we don't want to rush it, especially as my brother Jack got married last October. I also want to wait until my niece Pearl, who is 15 months, can walk down the aisle as ring bearer.
"We are taking the lace from my mum's wedding dress and making mine with it. It's something she's said she'd like me to do since I was a baby."
The California church where Ronald Reagan exchanged vows with his wife Nancy in 1952 and Britney Spears found solace from the paparazzi in 2008 is opening its doors to same-sex weddings. The Little Brown Church in Studio City has hosted almost 23,000 ceremonies since it opened in 1939, and now Pastor Russell Willoughby and Associate Minister Reverend Michael Kosik are planning to help gays and lesbians celebrate new California marriage laws by giving them a spiritual home where they can say their 'I dos'.
And they're keen to encourage conservative Christians, who still refuse to accept that gay people should be allowed to marry, to change their views.
Pastor Russell says, "At the Little Brown Church, we believe that loving relationships are gifts from God, regardless of the sexual orientation of those involved.
"I have a hard time understanding why the thought of two people loving each other and devoting their lives to one another is so upsetting to many Christians. So what if the people in love are not heterosexual? I can't believe that God would limit something so wonderful as romantic love to only one group - those who are straight. Do you really think God would discriminate like this?
"Back when same-sex marriage was legal for a few months before (the legislation) Prop 8 was passed, many gay and lesbian couples were married at The Little Brown Church. The vast majority of these couples had been together for many years, loving and caring for one another in committed relationships. It was an honour for me to officiate at their weddings."
The Little Brown Church is part of the Church of the Valley in Van Nuys, California - a participating congregation in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Pastor Russell adds, "Our denomination is very ecumenical. This inherent openness is one of our greatest strengths. Church of the Valley is an official open and affirming congregation, which means that we have voted, as a congregation, to be radically inclusive of all regardless of sexual orientation, gender identification, social status, racial identity, ethnic background or nation of origin."
Officials at gay rights group GLAAD are thrilled to hear the church is welcoming to same-sex couples looking to wed.
Ross Murray, the head of the organisation's Religion, Faith & Values Program, tells WENN, "The Little Brown Church joins the ever-growing majority of Christian congregations that welcome and accept gay and lesbian couples, just as they are, and support their relationships and their families.
"Providing weddings for same-sex couples is a significant step to welcoming the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community into the larger Christian church."
The tiny little church, which never closes its doors, last hit the headlines in January, 2008, when Britney Spears and her then-boyfriend, photographer Adnan Ghalib, stopped by the place of worship and lit a candle after abruptly leaving a scheduled custody hearing at the Los Angeles Superior Court. Spears also left a message in the church prayer box.
Comedian Kenny Kramer is qualified to marry couples after becoming a fully-licensed minister. The funnyman, who served as the real-life inspiration for the character of Cosmo Kramer in TV hit Seinfeld, decided to obtain a license after watching several weddings because of his girlfriend's job as a musician.
He tells the New York Daily News, "I thought, 'I could do this much better than them (the ministers I saw)'."
Kramer filed an application to become a minister with the Universal Life Church and was declared an official marriage officiant in June (13), obtaining a licence from the City Clerk in New York.
He adds, "This is a new identity - it's Rev. Kramer. When I got my certificate, it gave me options: Reverend, minister, father. I thought, 'Reverend. Why not?' So here in New York, if I say you are man and wife, you're married."
Lately, people have been helping Zach Braff with his Kickstarter film Wish I Was Here. Braff decided to give back by helping one of the people who pledged for his film, musician Matt Hulbert.
Hulbert wanted to propose to his girlfriend Janice in a creative way, so he wrote a song and made a video — and that video begins and ends with Braff. "Sorry, you caught me listening to one of my favorite songs by my good friend Matt," Braff says. "Man, he can really rock out. He asked me to help him with a little question he'd like to ask you, Janice ... He knows ... that he never became the rock star that he promised you he would become, I'm sure he's a rockstar in your eyes. But he's hoping you can overlook that. And he'd like you to please consider being his wife. Being his bride. But before you answer, let's see what a few other people should do."
What follows is a whole montage of Janice's family, friends, and pets telling her to "say yes" while the song Hulbert wrote plays in the background. When the song and the montage end, Braff chimes in again.
"That's pretty unanimous, Matt," Braff says. "And let's be honest, you're never going to score anyone this hot, so I'd stick with her. She's a babe, and we all know how great she is. So go for it, marry her, as Beyoncé said, ‘If you like it then you should have put a ring on it.'"
Janice tears up, then says yes, and the video comes to an adorably happy end. Watch it here at your own risk. You may end up wishing your boyfriend was this wonderful (or was Zach Braff).

Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is engaged to marry her boyfriend Nick Gordon. The 20 year old grew close to Gordon, who was informally adopted by her mum when he was 12, after the death of the superstar in 2012, and now the young couple is set to wed.
Announcing the news in a post on her official Facebook.com page, she writes, "YES, we me nick (sic) are engaged."
And she took aim at critics of the romance, adding, "I'm tired of hearing people say 'eww your (sic) engaged to your brother or if Whitney was still alive would we be together or would she approve of this.' Let me clear up something, we aren't even real brother and sister, nor is he my adoptive brother. My mom never adopted him. In fact, mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating. My mom knows me better than any of you.
"A lot of yall are saying that yall are only saying this all out of love. Which is bull because if that was so, all you would want is for me to be happy (sic).
"People need to seriously stop judging my relationship. Pretty sure it's my own decision who I want to be with. Yes, my relationship may not be perfect. We will have rough patches, just like every other relationship. And we have had our rough patches. You may or may not agree with my relationship. You may or may not respect it. Judge me, go ahead. Your opinions are yours and mine are mine. It is my life and not yours. The decisions I make have nothing to do with you."
Gordon and Brown, whose father is singer Bobby Brown, has sparked engagement rumours in the past - she was photographed on two separate occasions wearing a diamond sparkler on her ring finger, but her representative denied the claims both times.
Gay actor John Barrowman has opened up about his surprise wedding earlier this month (02Jul13), revealing he and his partner only decided to marry on the morning of their ceremony after an argument about proposing. The Torchwood star and his longterm partner Scott Gill wanted to make their union official in the U.S. after lawmakers at the country's Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and overturned California's Proposition 8 last month (Jun13), but the pair could not decide who would pop the question.
Barrowman reveals they both agreed the time was right to wed, and headed to a registrars' office in Indio, California in casual attire to marry later that day.
Speaking on British morning show Daybreak, the actor says, "We got up in the morning, about a week after the whole thing had passed (at the Supreme Court), and we had an argument in the morning and Scott said, 'When are you going to propose to me?' I said, 'Wait a minute, why is it always me, when are you going to propose to me?' and we had this row and then I just finally said, 'Look, let's just go do it, let's get it over and done with'.
"So in shorts, T-shirts and flip-flops, we headed down to the registrars' office in Indio, just outside of Palm Springs, and we thought we'd just get the paperwork done and we'd have to do the service or the ceremony later but they said no, we can do it that very day."
Barrowman and Gill also acted as witnesses for another gay couple on their wedding day, and the service brought the pair to tears.
The star adds, "We were the youngest, all the other couples, women and men, were in their 80s and 70s and one couple... the guy was 82, the same age as my dad. My parents have been married for over 50 years. This couple had been together for over 40 years and they said, 'Would you witness this for us?' He said, 'I never thought I'd be alive to get married to the one that I love'. When they were getting married, Scott and I were just bubbling (crying), they were bubbling. I started crying when Scott and I got married, I did."
Barrowman and his partner previously exchanged vows in a civil ceremony in the U.K. in 2006.
Actress Eva Longoria has thanked the media for her new relationship with Ernesto Arguello, revealing rumours of a romance between the pair prompted them to start dating. In April (13), the Desperate Housewives star was linked to entrepreneur Arguello after they reportedly grew close during his stint on Ready For Love, the doomed reality TV show she produced.
Longoria was quick to shut down the speculation, taking to her Twitter.com account to write, "Sorry ernestoarguello is NOT dating me, but u can see who he is dating on ReadyForLove..."
But in an ironic twist, the rumours actually pushed the duo together, and the brunette beauty has confirmed they are now an item.
She tells People, "I think that's why our relationship is so special - we truly started as friends. I guess we have the press to thank for pushing us to see something we didn't see!"
Things are going so well between the couple, Arguello recently jetted the star off to Nicaragua to introduce her to his family. The couple also reportedly stopped by a school he built in his native Honduras, and Arguello appears to be delighted the news of his celebrity romance is now public.
After Longoria tweeted, "Happy to share NOW that it's true! Couldn't be happier..." on Thursday (04Jul13), he wrote, "Me too baby, I LOVE YOU."
The news comes a week after Longoria's ex-husband, basketball star Parker, announced he was engaged to marry girlfriend Axelle Francine.
