Former 'N Sync star Lance Bass will be inviting fans to celebrate with him as he ties the knot with fiance Michael Turchin as part of a televised special. The singer-turned-TV and radio personality and his actor/model beau have yet to set a date for their nuptials, but Bass has revealed that they will get married before the end of the year (14).
He tells website GayStarNews.com, "We're filming it for an (U.S. network) E! wedding special. It will probably air around Valentine's Day (14Feb15), so it has to be before Valentine's Day I know that." Bass admits that he is eager to watch his big day on TV, because when he was growing up as a closeted gay man in conservative Mississippi, he never imagined same sex marriages would exist, let alone be played out on TV.
He explains, "Growing up in the South, all you think about is family and who you were going to marry. At that time, of course, I was kidding myself that I was going to marry a girl and I always dreamed of that wedding and starting a family. Never in my lifetime did I think that I'd be able to get married legally. "It's just amazing how fast everything is going right now and I'm just honoured to be able to share my wedding with the world. As a little gay kid growing up in Mississippi, I would have loved to have turned on the television and see that happen and say, 'Oh my gosh, there's nothing wrong with me and I can have that'."
Actor Sharif Atkins is engaged to his longtime girlfriend after proposing to her onstage at a fundraising gala in New York, where he was honoured for his charity work. The White Collar star was being feted at the Operation Smile benefit at Cipriani Wall Street on Thursday night (01May14) when he turned the spotlight on his partner, Bethany Lynn Hotchkiss.
Speaking from the stage, he said, "She doesn't know I'm about to do this", before getting down on bended knee and telling Hotchkiss, "For three-and-a-half years you stood behind me. You care and you loved me and I love you very much. So in front of all of our family, in front of your mother and dad, my mother and dad, I would just like to... ask you to marry me."
His delighted girlfriend shouted "Yes!" from the audience, which cheered at the happy news.
Jason Priestley has taken aim at his former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty in his new memoir, criticising the actress for her allegedly bratty behaviour. The actor has spilled all about the behind-the-scenes drama on the set of the hit teen series, revealing Doherty began behaving badly before the 1990s show had even begun to air.
In an excerpt of his book Jason Priestley: A Memoir, published in Us Weekly magazine, he recalls taking a private flight with her from Los Angeles to New York to meet with advertisers, only for Doherty to reportedly complain during the whole journey.
He writes, "I could not believe my ears at Shannen's very first words after she boarded. Her butt had barely hit her seat before she said loudly to the PR person, 'Really? A town car? You send a town car to take me to the airport, not a limo?' She sighed a very put-upon sigh. I laughed, as I couldn't really tell if Shannen was kidding or not.
"But that was just the beginning. I looked on, becoming more uneasy by the minute as she began b**ching about the short notice and the food on board and the temperature in the cabin and everything else."
Meanwhile, Priestley has also lifted the lid on his encounters with other big celebrities, revealing he received romance advice from Bradley Cooper while shooting 2004 film I Want to Marry Ryan Banks, and once shared a marijuana joint with Sir Mick Jagger at an awards show afterparty in Dublin, Ireland back in 2000.
He recalls, "Mick Jagger and (ex-wife) Jerry Hall (were) lounging on a bed, passing a joint back and forth... (My friend) said, 'Hey Mick, pass it around.' 'So sorry, love,' he said. Then he got up and handed the joint to me; I took a drag and passed it."
"I actually proposed to her, I made, like, an origami ring out of a dollar bill. I went like this: 'Sofia Vergara, my gorgeous, will you marry me?' (and she said), 'Noooo!'" Child actor Emjay Anthony reveals he tried to woo his Chef co-star Sofia Vergara. The actress, who is already engaged, plays the 10 year old's onscreen mother in the new Jon Favreau film.
Everyone is up in arms over whether Porsha Stewart or Kenya Moore should leave Real Housewives of Atlanta after the fight last episode. However, maybe it’s NeNe Leakes who should leave. She has burned her final bridge by declaring war on her last remaining ally, Cynthia Bailey. She has had a sourpuss look on her face the entire reunion. Andy Cohen, please just make NeNe a producer. She tries to control the show most of the time anyway and knows good TV. Clearly, she’s tired of going through the motions, too. The toxicity of this reunion is starting to mirror the infamous Real Housewives of New York City reunion where Jill Zarin was fired. It’s also clear NeNe is trying to control the story because whenever Kenya speaks she, Kandi Burruss, and Phaedra Parks turn their heads away like a busted version of The Supremes.
Kenya vs. NeNe and The Supremes
Kenya seems to do the impossible. She breaks the fourth wall by acknowledging she is just “having a little fun.” It’s true it’s fun when the housewives are in on the drama. She also has dropped the drama-mongering pretense and provides thoughtful, cogent, comments during the rest of the show. Sure, she’s an instigator and she talks a lot of smack…but, no shade, so does Andy Cohen. NeNe and Phaedra accuse Kenya of instigating Porsha, which she did. However, this is a national television show and it should never escalate to actual physical blows...only verbal ones. Both Kenya and Cynthia agree and seem heartfelt and genuine.
Meanwhile, NeNe is throwing side-eyes and looks like someone just told her The New Normal was canceled. It’s sad because the reality of this show is starting to take a farcical turn. NeNe is beginning to join the ranks of Teresa Giudice and Jill Zarin by getting so full of herself she’s alienating viewers and giving the show too much negativity. NeNe also has the nerve to say she agrees there shouldn’t be violence but no one should put their finger in her face. Wasn’t she the one who attacked Kim Zolciak, one season, and Dwight Eubanks, another? Isn’t she the first one to get into people’s faces? She denies that she makes phone calls about the show but in her one-on-one with Andy references conversations she’s had with the ladies off-camera.
Winner: Kenya. She can be a pain and was annoying Porsha but nothing warrants violence. NeNe is very hypocritical and clearly trying to control the tone of the show.
Momma Joyce vs. The Bottle?
Kandi’s mother, known affectionately as Momma Joyce, spends most of her time making digs at Todd Tucker. She flaunts her weight loss but blames it on stress. She dodges a lot of Andy’s questions with nonsensical but humorous responses. She brags about all the diamonds she has but says she doesn’t have to work. She says she doesn’t rely financially on Kandi which brings Kandi to tears because clearly Joyce uses guilt to get her way with her daughter.
Loser: Kandi. There is no winner. Momma Joyce is a funny part of the show but at the expense of her daughter’s credibility, personal life, and good name.
NeNe vs. Cynthia
NeNe was downright indignant all season. She was as verbally abusive to Cynthia, as Cynthia’s husband, Peter Thomas. Cynthia bursts into tears over the fact that NeNe never seemed to respect her or their friendship. Sadly, given Cynthia’s financial troubles, she needs her role on the show. It seems like she plays nice because she doesn’t want to get fired. Meanwhile, NeNe seems to think she’s the Queen of the show but she is so disengaged in the reunion. She even goes so far as to mention Kenya is the lowest paid housewife but talks the most. Meanwhile, NeNe has now officially fought with everyone on the show. She also has had a falling out with everyone she’s claimed to be her friend. This seems to have become NeNe clocking random women…she should just get her own version of American Gladiators.
Winner: Cynthia. She may be boring and her husband may be verbally abusive. But, NeNe did disrespect her and has become a toxic element to the show. Cynthia seems very sympathetic and genuinely emotional. Kenya made a valid point that NeNe tosses her friends away when they misbehave.

Singer Jason Derulo has penned a track about feeling under pressure to marry his girlfriend Jordin Sparks. The couple has been together since 2012, and Derulo reveals he feels compelled to propose because of their families' expectations.
He has now tackled the topic on his new album Talk Dirty in the aptly named track Marry Me.
Derulo tells MTV.com, "I was just trying to explain that we have forever, so what's the rush... There is a lot of pressure, and there was a lot of pressure before the song. I wrote the song because of the pressure and then I made the pressure worse because people just listen to the chorus and all they hear is 'Will you marry me?' so they're like 'Oh you're proposing' I'm like 'No.'
"In the song I'm saying when the time is right, I'm saying we have the rest of our lives. So the perfect time is on its way."
Pharrell Williams is opening up about his stance on women's equality, revealing his new album G I R L is a tribute to females all over the world.
The Happy hitmaker's second studio album is already a global success just a month after its release, but Williams is eager to let fans know that this particular record isn't just about the music, but what it stands for.
In an interview with U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday (10Apr14), he explained that he had a clear vision for the G I R L album, which was to make it a tribute to women everywhere.
He said, "Instantly I knew that I wanted to give back to a demographic that had giving to me to me and my family for over 20 years and that was women. I knew it was going to be called G I R L, and put two spaces in between each letter, because I needed that word to read different in any text it would be lucky enough to be written about. I wanted that word to be bigger than anything else in that whole entire paragraph. First of all, I have a huge affinity for them, but at the same time there's a lot of inequality with women. Still to this day, it's like 73 cents to a man's dollar. What is that? The last time I heard, the only way that this entire species can come into existence is through the portal of a woman's body."
He continued, "We're a species that has had a space station floating around the earth for over 20 years, we even have a rover on the surface of Mars, how can we be the same species where we have legislators that tells women what they can and cannot do with their bodies. How is that possible? And when I say equality, I mean equality for everybody. Who are you telling who they can marry and who they can't - what is this? It's 2014."
Michael Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe has decided to marry the late King of Pop's pal, gay porn producer Marc Schaffel, after previously insisting they were not engaged. Reports surfaced last month (Mar14) suggesting Rowe was set to tie the knot with Schaffel, after she was photographed wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring.
Rowe denied the claims, but she has since come clean about the relationship, revealing she initially turned down the proposal because she feared she had terminal cancer, after doctors found irregularities with her lymph nodes.
However, test results have shown that the former nurse, who is mother to Jackson's two eldest children Prince Michael and Paris, is actually suffering from autoimmune disease sarcoidosis, which is not life-threatening, and now she has decided to marry Schaffel.
She tells TMZ.com, "He loves me, knows my kids, loves my kids and we'll see where this goes."
The couple has yet to set a wedding date.
Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams has sworn off marriage after dealing with her parent's divorce. The 16 year old actress understands why people tie the knot, but she does not see a reason for it.
She tells Vulture.com, "I'm never going to get married. Right now, my view on marriage is that it's extremely pointless. I see why other people get married, but for me, I'll never get married...
"My parents separated when I was really, really young, and it's just the complications of it all. My dad's name is Williams, and my mom's new married name is Frances, but she was a Pitt, which is her maiden name. Had I just been a Pitt the whole time, then that whole thing, changing names wouldn't be necessary. In my opinion, nothing changes after you get married. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Williams also reveals the idea of marriage makes her feel "trapped".
She continues, "Maybe when I fall in love, I'll change my mind, but right now? It just makes it harder to break up. You can't just leave. I'd never want to be trapped. I never like to stay in one place too long. I always flit around, I never settle anywhere."
Former Xscape star-turned-U.S. reality TV favourite Kandi Burruss has wed producer Todd Tucker. The couple exchanged vows in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday (04Apr14).
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star confirmed the happy news to In Touch magazine, stating, "(It was) one of the best days of my life! I never imagined that I would marry my best friend. Todd’s been that to me. And to have just had the wedding of my dreams, it’s all been so beautiful."
The couple met in 2011 and became engaged in January, 2013. Kandi has one daughter, Riley, 11, from a previous relationship.
Friday was a big day for another Real Housewives star - former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong also got married in California.
The 42 year old wed attorney John Bluher, 52, in Pacific Palisades at sunset.
She told People magazine, "Today, John, (daughter) Kennedy and I became a family. I married my best friend and Kennedy's family circle became complete... I definitely believe the universe put John in my path for a reason. We were meant to be."
Armstrong's first marriage to husband Russell ended tragically in 2011 after he committed suicide following the pair's separation.
