Nick Cannon has confessed his wife Mariah Carey was his dream girl growing up, and the pair's marriage is a "fairytale" come true. The actor/comedian has been married to the Grammy-winning singer since 2008, but his adoration for Carey began long before the two ever became an item.
In an interview with Queen Latifah on her new talk show, Cannon confesses he's always had his eye on Carey, adding married life with her seems like a fantasy.
He admits, "She was my dream girl. Literally (I was) 12 years old... I knew Mariah was the one when her poster was on my wall. Like, 'I'm gonna marry her one day'.
"I spoke it into existence. People asked me who my celebrity crush was, and I was like, 'Mariah Carey. Watch, one day I'm going to meet her'. And then it happened. We were backstage at an awards show. The first thing she said to me was, 'I heard all those nice things you've been saying about me in interviews'.
"I saw her a few years later (when) she wanted me in her music video (for Bye Bye). We sat down to talk about what she wanted in her music video and from that day on, we've been together ever since."
Cannon, who has two-year-old twins with Carey, continues, "We truly have the fairytale relationship. Nothing like this ever happens. We take pride in that. You have to constantly work on it, but we've been blessed in so many ways, to where when you tell the story, it almost sounds like a Hollywood movie script."
Singer Jason Derulo helped a member of the American military ask his girlfriend to marry him by serenading the couple with his song, Marry Me, while Samuel Peikert popped the question on U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Veterans Day (11Nov13).
The Wanted's Max George has confessed his drinking problem was to blame for his split with Michelle Keegan. The British pop star proposed to actress Keegan in 2011, but the couple ended the engagement the following year (12).
George has remained silent on the cause of the split ever since and Keegan is now engaged to marry U.K. reality TV star Mark Wright while George is dating model Nina Agdal.
But the singer has now told Britain's The Sun newspaper that his problems with drink played a big role in the breakdown of the couple's relationship.
He says, "I had a real problem with drinking too much and that was, without doubt, the downfall of our relationship. It made me a different person, even if I didn't think it at the time. I can't even remember some of the two years I was with her because I was getting drunk every night... I was drinking more to forget that fact that I was with someone who wasn't making me that happy."
Actor/singer Donnie Wahlberg left his girlfriend Jenny Mccarthy speechless on Friday (01Nov13) after making a surprise visit to Chicago, Illinois to celebrate her birthday. The blonde beauty headed home to Chicago to spend her 41st birthday weekend with her son Evan and her relatives after wrapping up her weekday stint on New York-based talk show The View.
However, she received the shock of her life when Wahlberg, who shoots police drama Blue Bloods in the Big Apple, showed up unannounced and hosted a special brunch in her honour.
The New Kids on the Block hitmaker also organised a private screening of McCarthy's favourite movie, Grease, and the birthday girl admits she was overjoyed by his efforts.
Gushing about her man on Monday's (04Nov13) episode of The View, she said, "He has proved that he is the best boyfriend in the world. He flew to Chicago on Friday, surprised me with a... brunch with all my friends and family... Then we went to a movie theatre... with the Chicago Children's Choir singing Happy Birthday and then he played the movie Grease... It was so wonderful and romantic and I am just so grateful."
The grand gestures have even prompted McCarthy, who has previously dated Jim Carrey and American football great Brian Urlacher, to rethink her anti-marriage stance following her divorce from actor/director John Mallory Asher in 2005.
She added, "I've said never again (would I get married), (but) he is the one person I would want nothing more in the world (than to marry)."
Her confession comes less than a week after Wahlberg's older sister Tracey gave the couple her official seal of approval, insisting she would "love" to have the model/actress as a sister-in-law.
Actress Katie Leclerc is set to walk down the aisle after becoming engaged to her boyfriend, according to a U.S. report. The Switched at Birth actress confirmed to E! News on Saturday (02Nov13) that she is to wed after her boyfriend, real estate agent Brian Stuart Habecost, popped the question.
The romantic proposal reportedly took place at their Los Angeles home, complete with flowers, balloons and a big banner reading "Will you Marry me Katie."
The star tells E! News, "I am so in love with Brian... It was so beautiful how he proposed. I could not be happier."
The loved up duo, who met at Katie's old talent agency, plan to tie the knot next year (14).
Kanye West is planning to marry his new fiancee Kim Kardashian next summer (14) - and the special day will be a really big affair. The rapper proposed to the mother of his baby daughter North on her 33rd birthday after taking over San Francisco's AT&T Park baseball stadium last week (21Oct13), but he insists the couple's nuptials will be an even bigger event, including "fighter jets".
Appearing on Los Angeles radio show Big Boy Neighborhood on Monday (28Oct13), West quipped, "I gotta apologise to the race of males for turning it up so much."
But he confesses that not everything went to plan when he got down on bended knee and asked Kardashian to be his bride.
The fussy star says, "They didn't have the lights exactly how I wanted them to be."
He also addressed reports suggesting the big proposal was staged for his fiancee's reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians - and that she picked out the ring he 'surprised' her with, adding, "She (Kim) knew I was eventually going to ask her to marry me. I just had to get that ring right. I worked with four different jewellers. Three rings were made and only one actually hit the finger... I actually changed the ring the night before. That ring was less than four hours old when I gave it to her."
He added, "I wanted to marry that girl from the first time I saw her. I just had to wait through a bunch of relationships to finally get my chance... It's just patience. You know with certain things, you're like, 'Yo, this is what's right for me, and this is what I should be doing'. And you gotta be patient."
After six years, one baby, and a memorable sloth incident, celeb couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell finally got married. According to reports, on Thurs. Oct 17, Shepard and Bell were visiting the Beverly Hills County Clerk's office to get their marriage license when a court employee offered to do the deed right then! The pair went for it, and apparently a photographer on sight snapped a few photos of the happy couple, with office employees saying Bell cried during the ceremony. Although Shepard and Bell probably weren't planning on getting married yesterday, it seems to be the kind of low-key ceremony they were hoping for. When discussing her wedding last year, Bell told USA TODAY, "I don't want another day where I get dressed up and wear makeup and celebrate myself. We really don't want any attention for it."
While the wedding may not have been a grand or public affair, both Bell and Shepard have been very vocal about their plans not to get married until the ban on same-sex marriage was overturned. In 2012, Bell said, "I don't feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that's denied to my friends."
When the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriages would be allowed in California, Bell re-proposed to Shepard via Twitter (the two were formally engaged in Jan. 2010).
.@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove”
— Kristen Bell (@IMKristenBell) June 26, 2013
Shepard responded with:
DOMA is dead. Prop 8 is dead. Now let's bring my big, gay marriage to @IMKristenBell to Life!!!!
— dax shepard (@daxshepard1) June 26, 2013
Together, Shepard and Bell have a daughter, Lincoln, born in March 2013. This will be the first marriage for both actors.

Singer June Reimer Springer has died at the age of 85. The star passed away in Chico, California on 27 September (13). No further details of her death have been released.
Starting her professional career aged 18, the singer auditioned for famed composer Cole Porter and landed a role in the original run of Kiss Me, Kate.
After appearing in a string of Broadway productions, she began using the stage name Monica Lane in the 1950s and toured as part of a singing duo with Cass Franklin.
She went on to marry famed publicist John Springer, whose clients included Elizabeth Taylor and her on/off husband Richard Burton, and had three children, Gary, Alicia and Cynthia.
Former pop star Sinitta has slammed speculation she is part of a harem of women who regularly sleep with Simon Cowell. The So Macho singer, who dated Cowell in the 1980s, is one of the music mogul's closest confidantes and often holidays with the star alongside a series of his other former flames, including Jackie St Clair, Terri Seymour and ex-fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy.
Following years of gossip suggesting Cowell maintains sexual relationships with all the women, Sinitta has now spoken out to put the rumours to bed.
She tells Britain's The Sun, "We never were a harem. We're not all sleeping with him. It's as bad as calling us his b**ches. It's rude, degrading and beyond insulting to suggest that. We're all grown ups.
"If people don't stop calling us his harem I will go nuts. The girls are all there with partners or as friends."
The singer also denied reports she is bankrolled by The X Factor boss: "I have worked for the money he has paid me legitimately. Yes, he takes us all with him in his plane, on his boat and in his villas. It is extremely generous, but this is not why I am his friend.
"I don't live for the holidays. It's the company and quality time together."
Sinitta has set the record straight about her relationship with Cowell in a series of interviews in the U.K. publication after revealing she underwent an abortion when she fell pregnant with his child in the '80s. The British star also admitted she was desperate to marry Cowell for years after the romance ended.
