Actress and TV personality Jenny Mccarthy has landed her own U.S. radio programme after announcing her departure from talk show The View. The blonde beauty will front a weekly radio show on satellite network SiriusXM. Her first guests will include comedienne Chelsea Handler, gossip blogger Perez Hilton and her fiance Donnie Wahlberg.
Comedienne Rosie O'Donnell has officially been announced as a new co-host of U.S. talk show The View. The actress originally joined the daytime programme in 2006, but walked away from the project in May, 2007 after just one season as a panellist. However, she will be back for the new run of shows this autumn (14) following the departure of Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd. Confirming the news in a Twitter.com post on Thursday (10Jul14), bosses at U.S. network ABC write, "It's official! ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ (with) moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18".
Comedienne Rosie O'Donnell is reportedly set to return to the panel of U.S. talk show The View, seven years after she quit.
The outspoken actress signed up to co-host the daytime programme in 2006, but walked away from the project in May, 2007 after just one season on air, citing her constant clashes of opinion with then-co-host and Republican Party supporter Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
However, O'Donnell has since agreed to join current presenter Whoopi Goldberg on The View, filling one of the vacant seats left by departing personalities Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, according to TMZ.com.
Show creator and executive producer Barbara Walters also stepped down as their fellow co-host earlier this year (14).
Producers are still on the hunt for two additional personalities to complete the new-look panel.
"Upon consideration, I took a new job which allows me to do what I do best, which is talk without interrupting anyone... I love the fans that supported us, so stay tuned - even if it does compete with The View." Model-turned-TV personality Jenny Mccarthy hints at her new job on a rival show after addressing her departure from U.S. daytime programme The View on Monday's (07Jul14) episode. The busty blonde will leave the panel with pal and co-anchor Sherri Shepherd once the current 17th season wraps this summer (14).
Jenny McCarthy is leaving U.S. daytime talk show The View after less than a year on the panel. The blonde bombshell joined the long-running chat series last September (14), but has decided to walk away just nine months into the job after her co-anchor Sherri Shepherd announced she was leaving.
Shepherd confirmed her exit on Thursday night (26Jun14), saying in a statement, "It's been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and (executive producer) Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey."
McCarthy then took to Twitter.com to tell her followers she is also leaving the programme. She writes, "If Sherri goes... I go too. #sisters... My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year."

A statement from bosses at U.S. network ABC confirmed their departures: "The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively."
The pair's exit comes months after creator and executive producer Walters retired in April (14). She launched the Emmy-winning show in 1997.
Actress/comedienne Whoopi Goldberg will be the show's only returning host when the programme comes back for its 18th season this autumn (14).
Michael Douglas, Oprah Winfrey and former U.S. First Lady Hillary Clinton helped veteran U.S. newswoman Barbara Walters celebrate her TV retirement on Friday (16May14) by making surprise appearances on her longrunning daytime show The View. The 84 year old's final episode as co-host of the talk show aired on Friday and Douglas, Winfrey and Clinton were among the guests who turned out to wish her well after a career spanning over five decades.
Joining Walters and co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd at the top of the show, former U.S. Secretary of State Clinton said, "I can't believe this day has come, and I can't believe it's for real."
Actor Douglas then reunited with his old pal to reminisce about their longtime friendship and gushed to Walters, "You're an extraordinary person, inside and out. You have the warmest heart, you are the most generous person I have ever seen, you give the greatest parties and I love you, I really do."
Media mogul Winfrey also appeared on air to heap praise on Walters, who became America's first female co-anchor of a network news programme in the 1970s, explaining, "You're the reason I wanted to be in television. You shattered the glass ceiling for so many women."
Winfrey went on to introduce a slew of female TV newscasters to the show to salute Walters, including Diane Sawyer, Arnold Schwarzenegger's estranged wife Maria Shriver, Katie Couric and Robin Roberts.
Walters, also known for her Most Fascinating People TV interview specials, won't be retiring completely - she plans to continue working as a producer of The View, the panel talk show she launched 17 years ago.
Actress and TV personality Jenny Mccarthy and her new fiance Donnie Wahlberg are considering making their upcoming wedding ceremony super low-key by eloping. The New Kids on the Block star proposed to the blonde beauty last month (Apr14), and the couple is now planning for the big day.
McCarthy is keen to stretch out the engagement, but likes the idea of making her second wedding ceremony a spontaneous affair - something Wahlberg is very keen on too.
He tells Us Weekly magazine, "I'd like a small wedding. A perfect wedding for me would be Jenny, myself, and our three boys."
McCarthy adds, "We haven't decided yet... It depends on the day... He's like, 'Now!'. We have, like, 600 family members, so we either spend our entire nest egg on the wedding, or elope and buy a house."
If the two decide on a formal ceremony, they are hoping to persuade Andy Cohen, the U.S. TV personality who brought them together on his show Watch What Happens Live, to officiate.
Wahlberg says, "We haven't asked him yet. He has to get ordained."
Model/actress Jenny Mccarthy was quietly happy to learn Italian fashion guru Stefano Gabbana had been sentenced to jail for tax evasion, insisting the punishment is "karma" for treating her badly 16 years ago. The busty blonde had a rude run-in with the Dolce & Gabbana label co-founder backstage at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 1998, when she served as the ceremony's host, after she failed to recognise the designer while wearing one of his luxury dresses.
Recalling the incident on her U.S. talk show The View on Thursday (01May14) - a day after the designers were sentenced to 18 months behind bars, she said, "I call that karma... I hosted the MTV awards in Milan back in the '90s and I had all the Italian designers, Versace, Gabbana... fighting for me to wear their outfit. I chose Dolce & Gabbana.
"In the commercials, I go to the bathroom and backstage was Gabbana approaching me. I didn't know what he looked like - I'm from Chicago! All of a sudden... he literally pushes me in my dressing room, gets the police, makes me take off that dress that I'm wearing. I start crying, like, 'You can't make me take off this dress, I have to go back out there...!'
"He'd loaned it to me but because of his ego, I didn't recognise him and say, 'Oh, hello Mr. Gabbana, thank you for the dress'. I walked past him and he had the police come and make me strip down... He not only took the dress, he took the bra and the shoes! I put on a Versace dress and (went back out onstage)."
Domenico Dolce and his business partner Gabbana were found guilty of with tax evasion last June (13) and they were handed suspended 20-month jail terms. An Italian appeals court judge upheld the conviction during a hearing on Wednesday (30Apr14) and ordered them to serve 18 months behind bars.
Newly-engaged couple Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny Mccarthy have been given the blessing of their children and former spouses to wed after holding a family meeting with their exes prior to announcing the happy news. The actress and TV personality revealed on Wednesday (16Apr14) that Wahlberg had proposed to her last weekend (12-13Apr14), and she showed off her huge yellow sapphire ring and gushed about the surprise on her U.S. daytime show The View.
Now she reveals that she and her new fiance chose to keep the news to themselves for a few days to ensure the New Kids on the Block star's ex-wife and mother of his two sons, Kim Fey, and McCarthy's former husband John Asher, dad to her boy Evan, were comfortable with their plans to wed.
She says, "The thing about getting married at this age is that... it's a package deal so not only do you have to find somebody you love so much and (is) the greatest guy in the world, but he has to accept your child, just as much as he loves you...
"But the other way around is he has two children and I sat down with his ex (to get her approval), (and) John Asher, my ex, loves Donnie, so it's really a blessed union and I'm really very grateful."
And McCarthy is considering asking fellow U.S. TV personality Andy Cohen to officiate their nuptials after first meeting her husband-to-be on his show Watch What Happens Live early last year (13).
She adds, "We were actually considering asking him to marry us, so we'll see."
The couple only started dating after Wahlberg featured as a guest on her short-lived late night programme, The Jenny McCarthy Show.
New Kids On The Block star Donnie Wahlberg has convinced his girlfriend, Jenny Mccarthy, to relax her rules on marriage after asking her to be his wife. The actress and TV personality announced the happy news on her U.S. daytime talk show The View on Wednesday (16Apr14), revealing that the pop star had proposed with a yellow sapphire.
Showing off her new ring, the former model told her guest hosts, "I just got engaged!" and then burst into tears as Wahlberg joined her on the set.
The couple started dating last year (13) after falling in love when he appeared as a guest on her short-lived late-night TV show.
Both stars have been married once before and McCarthy, 41, insisted she would never wed again after breaking up with boyfriend Jim Carrey in 2010, but she admitted she was warming to the idea of life with Wahlberg, 44, in a TV interview at the end of 2013, stating, "I've said on every interview that I was like, 'Never get married again, ever', and, of course, you never say never. I think he would be an amazing husband, so if he does (propose), I would for sure say yes."
Cooing about her new fiance on The View on Wednesday, McCarthy added, "He understands my work schedule and he has his and I get it. And we're both single parents and he's trying to juggle all of that while I am too."
Wahlberg has two sons from his nine-year marriage to Kim Fey, which ended in divorce in 2008, and McCarthy shares a son, Evan, with her ex John Asher. They divorced in 2005.
Variety series hosted by Jenny McCarthy who leads a five-member ensemble through comedy sketches, vignettes, and film shorts. Each episode also includes a live musical performance and a monologue by McCarthy.
